Tip 9/50: Share Someone Else's Awesome Google+ Post
And thank them for bringing it to your attention...

Google+ (for me at least) is about content discovery as much as it is anything else. The reason I follow lots of influential and like-minded people is so that I can learn from them and in turn, see what 3rd party content they are advocating (the content they share).

By sharing or re-sharing someone else's content you are adding your seal of approval, plus it helps the originator get their content seen by more people. In addition to the share itself, consider the following:
► Be sure to hat-tip (thank) the person who brought the content to your attention as well as the originator by + mentioning them.
► Add your own additional views, thoughts and comments so that people continue to learn from the thread

By way of thank-you, the content originator may decide to follow you particularly if you add additional value to their post (ideas they haven't considered, your own thoughts etc) such that it shows you are an influencer in your own right and that they can learn from you in the future. This also may lead to them re-sharing your posts with their following.

Sharing other posts is also great for keeping your profile looking alive when you don't have original content to share of your own.
