I don't feel any particular need to listen to people in Seattle, or worse, Europe or California, bitch and whine about religious freedom in Indiana.

I might need to prune my 'circles' a bit.

The vast majority of you whining about it, admit a few things:

You're not going to gencon anyway.
You havent read the bill
You're not gay.
You're not a practicing christian or jew.

Then admit you have no idea what the fuck you're talking about and shut your god damn mouth.

The right to run my hypothetical business the way I choose is not a human right? The right of a small minority to dictate how I practice my religion supercedes that?

Thanks for clarifying that.

Bard/Thief Kit: Rogues of Westgate Barony
Rogues of Westgate Barony The lands of Westgate Barony are rather rural and decidedly not the cosmopolitan setting usually assumed to breed the game's stereotypical thieves and bards. Even the capitol city of Millen, with it's nearly ten thousand inhabitant...

Whew! Final revision of the Common Yellow Chocobo!
I'm finally happy with the Monstrous Compendium entry template for Libre Office, and added a little more clarification on the Chocobo's use of its magical abilities, if it has them. Please, let me know what you think, of the page layout and the Chocobo itse...

Who's afraid of the big, bad d20?
Although Gil & Glory is focused on AD&D 2nd ed, and that's the game I still prefer, there is honestly a ton of material out there for the D&D 3rd, 4th and 5th eds, and their offshoots, like Pathfinder. A good amount of this is either very rules dependent, r...

Just to jump on the latest topic bandwagon...

What is the OSR?

For me, easy. New shit I can use with an old school or old school style D&D game. It's that simple.

I hated what I saw of the D&D Next playtest. Didn't appeal to me one bit.

That's why I was rather shocked when I picked up the 5e Basic Rules pdf and 5e Starter Set and actually enjoy them quite a bit. I've since purchased the 5e PHB and MM (as well as that Hoard of the Dragon Queen adventure hardback, though it's a bit too Forgotten Realms focused for immediate use) and await the DMG. Running the group through the Phandelver adventure from the Starter Set, adapted to be set in Ratik, in the Greyhawk setting. So far, so good.

A pleasant surprise from WotC, overall.

I should mention that once I have the DMG and can evaluate the "complete" rule set, I will be doing quite a bit of tweaking and homebrewing to embrace a solid old school feel. Lots of old AD&D and Classic D&D stuff to convert to the new rules.

I only hope they don't ruin things with a glut of expansions and splatbooks that ramp the power bloat right back up to late 3.5e or 4e levels.

The books they will be releasing in the future will be the equivalent of nobs and dials, and plug and play modularly within the system. So you could replicate closer styles to previous editions. The idea is the entire thing is the base line now. Everything else gives you further options to explore.

The world isn't flat, but it is hollow!
So, most of you are aware that Mystara contains the Hollow World subsetting. Have I kept it as part of Mystoerth? Basically, yes, but with a couple caveats. 1: The are no massive polar portals . Traveling from the outer world to the inner world isnt as easy...
