One of the abandoned cabins in the old Elkmont vacation resort in the Smoky Mountains National Park. These were the vacation homes for the rich in Knoxville Tennessee until the park service made them leave the buildings behind. Most are deteriorating, some falling in. They are all off limits. I shot this looking in the front door of one home.

Four exposure HDR.

Lost Love
This rose was laying on a window sill in the old vacation homes in Elkmont in the Smoky Mountain National Park.   I wonder how it came to rest there and the story behind the rose.  Perhaps someone visiting their old home or the home of their lost love.

We stayed at the Glacier Guides Lodge September 1 & 2 and wish we had stayed longer. It's a great place to stay and base out of for the west side of Glacier. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms were excellent, and the breakfast was top notch. I highly recommend the lodge. Didn't take advantage of any of the other services but I'm sure they are excellent as well.
