Less than a month to go, and we need some support for our fundraising efforts, please give what you can afford, thanks.

Been having a workshop weekend after a friend munched his land rover. We're desperate for a bell housing for a Discovery 1. It's a 200tdi and has an LT77 gear box. If anyone has one that is going spare that we could procure then that would be really helpful. Near to Birmingham UK would be ideal.

Any roleplayers out there who fancy a new tabletop rpg based on the campaign world of HeroQuest and HeroFest that has been running for many years, they're publishing it all in this new Kickstarter... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bigdog/orinrakatha-rpg-epic-fantasy-campaign-where-worlds
After live role-playing for 27 years in this story, it is time to commit it to print in an epic tabletop RPG campaign world sourcebook.

Phew that was close, nearly lost 280 days of uptime with that half hour power cut, fortunately my UPS managed to keep the server running for the duration.

Auxillary batteries from the landy, broadband plugged into it - laptop - jobs a good un.  No uptime really since moving.

Stage one of the APRS in the car project complete - after fighting with various software images, finally managed to get the 2.8" touchscreen to work in both text and Xwindows mode.  There was a moment when everything was mirrored and I still can't operate a card protect switch on an SD card, but got there in the end.
Next stage, construct the TNC-pi to interface with the radio and get my GPS dongle back from whoever I loaned it to.

That sounds really rather cool! If you need to borrow a GPS dongle I've got one not in use right at this moment in time...

I enjoy driving as an activity, but sometimes it would be nice to just let the vehicle get on with the more mundane driving whilst I could just relax on the journey. This is especially true with yesterdays trip across to Cambridge and back, it was a long day and did I really need to be in command of the car at all times? I for one look forward to self driving cars, and it looks like google are really coming along in leaps and bounds. Just don't expect me to give up the motorbike for when I actually want to do the driving.

That would suit me fine Alan, if I could book the car from my phone, have it pick me up from home, take me to a railway station and join a train where I'd effectively get a personal compartment in the car. I think that would be great and a decent solution to providing public transport in rural areas where the bus services aren't so good.  It might give a bit more leverage to re-opening some of the closed railway lines too - like the Aberystwyth - Camarthen line

We're leaving to do the Macmillan 4x4 challenge next week, and our sponsorship page is still open for donations. Not far to get to our target. All money raised goes directly to Macmillan, all fuel and event costs have to be covered out of our own pockets, so please give with a clear conscience that all the money that you give goes straight to the good cause.
