Does anybody know the current status of getting icm_nhi (lowlevel thunderbolt support) in the Linux kernel? I know +Greg Kroah-Hartman had legitimate issues with the initial patch but I've not seen any follow up. Anyone?

Does anyone know more than me about reading and writing to actual hardware serial ports in C? I've added a plugin for the ChaosKey into fwupd but reading and writing over the serial port is not quite as reliable as I'd hoped. Feedback welcome. Thanks.

Okay, thanks. I've added checking of return values, and it appears that cfmakeraw() sets the c_oflag, c_iflag and c_lflag to sane values for me. Setting the c_lflag and c_cc seem to help, but sometimes the hardware just gets wedged. Of course; it could just be the hardware getting in a muddle...

I really appreciate the help everyone! Thanks.

Thanks for all your awesome work on ColorHug, Gnome Software! I even updated the firmware on my 8bitdo bluetooth controller in Linux thanks to you :)

Does anyone own any Logitech hardware that uses a Pico USB dongle? If so, can I have the "lsusb -vvv" dump please. It's about 1mm smaller than the Nano and has U0012 on the metalwork. Thanks!

Is "OpenSUSE" the same distro as "OpenSUSE Tumbleweed"? I'm wondering if I should merge the results, even though the distro name in os-release is different? In other news, Go Fedora!

Wow, last night Manjaro went up the stats table for the ODRS reviews submission into 4th place distro... although 81% of all the reviews for Manjaro come from just one person. :/

The immediate reality of #brexit :(
This morning I raised the price of a ColorHug2 from £85 to £95 and I wanted to explain a little why. As usual in January the suppliers for the various parts in a ColorHug2 emailed me their new prices (at my request), and unlike last year most of the prices went up a lot. All but one quoted Brexit as one of ...

No "Apologies" needed at the end of your post. I'ts a fact of doing business and folks that have found their way to what you're doing can certainly understand that, I hope. :)

I use Digitally Imported as background music whilst coding. From next year the price is going up, and £70/year seems a lot just for background music I'm not really listening to. What does everyone else do?

It's french - that's good, I can't understand anything when they say stuff so it won't distract. Music is wonderfully eclectic, easily jumping genres and centuries.

Does anyone have a spare Logitech Unifying dongle I can borrow for a few weeks? I specifically require the newer Texas Instruments version, rather than the Nordic version. You can tell if it's the version I need by looking at the etching on the metal usb plug, if it says U0008 above the CE marking then it's the one I'm looking for. Thanks!

Are you a member of a LUG? Want to help new users by submitting application reviews?
There are a lot of Linux communities all over the globe filled with really nice people who just want to help others. Typically these people either can't (or don't feel comfortable) coding, and I'd love to harness some of that potential by adding a huge number of new application reviews to the ...

How would people feel about me trusting the Microsoft Root Certificate when upgrading firmware? +Andreas Schneider has created a nice library that can parse catalog files (also adding new code in GNUTLS) and so we could in theory treat "Microsoft says this is legitimate" as "good to install without a password" if we wanted.

+Марко Костић The first time you see a file signed by MS you could ask user if they want to install them without a password next time.

Want to help make #Fedora awesome? Open GNOME Software, search for something and write a review for any application you use without any stars. We're going to be showing star ratings in more places in Fedora 26 so we need more high quality data for more applications. Plus, some maintainers actually read the comments, so it's not just shouting into the ether.
