Mr. Hornsby is a great lawyer. He is a no nonsense, straight to the point man who will get you favorable results in a timely fashion. He takes cases head on and does not require much from his clients other than to be 100% honest and to keep proper documentation of their cases so he can help in the fastest possible way. When hiring him you need to keep in mind that he is your lawyer and is a very busy man so he might not be able to answer every single call or respond to your emails within 15 minutes, but trust me, he is working his butt off to win your case. It is up to his clients to trust in him and let him work. I have used him twice because after my first case I had no interest in even considering hiring a different lawyer. Yes, he is that good.

I will only recommend Mr. Richard Hornsby if you're looking for a lawyer. When it comes to him you need to be understanding and patience. You need to understand the type of life a lawyer has. They are at times stuck in a courtroom, reading and writing documents, dealing with additional clients, waiting on legal processes, etc. While I mentioned the above, Mr. Hornsby gives his 110% and you can tell it is his passion. Once he is your lawyer, he is on the clock and does things right away. He lets you know all the steps that are being taken. He lives and breathes this life and gives his “code of honor” when it comes to defending you or others. He is blunt, no nonsense, and straight to the point because of the little time a lawyer has in a day. It is like riding a bike to him, he knows what he is doing and doesn’t need to be told what to do. He values his time and wants to please you and others. When it comes to communication, all I have to say is respect him as it is your life. If it not urgent, email him, he will get back to you with an answer that address more than your initial question. If you have another question, he will answer. If it is urgent, call him during appropriate times and he will answer everything you need to know if he is your attorney. If the call is missed, I can almost guarantee he will call you back within 2 hours. At the end of the day, remember Mr. Hornsby is a high prolific lawyer in Florida (for many reasons), and has a family that he spends little time with. With that being said, he has extreme work ethic, hunger, drive, and extreme knowledge. He will fight for you with everything he has in his arsenal and does everything in your best interest.

I Highly recommend Richard E. Hornsby to anyone who needs legal representation, especially for those who feel they are not heard, or can't get a fair chance. Mr. Hornsby will tell you what to expect, he will tell you like it is, with a no BS attitude and will stand up and fight for you in the courtroom. I am pleased with his work and will contact Mr. Hornsby if our family would ever need him in the future.

I highly recommend Richard Hornsby for your defense attorney. He is no nonsense, efficient, and quick. He really does give you the best outcome for your case and provides great advise-- these are things I highly look for in a lawyer and was assured that everything was being taken care of to the best of its ability. My process was less painful than my peers who had similar cases to mine (and those who just used a public defense attorney-- their stories are downright horrific compared to mine). I will always refer my friends or family who need defense representation to Hornsby (in fact I have a friend I referred who is using him now, and he has nothing but good things to say). We never want to have to be in a situation where we need a lawyer, but if that situation arrises for my friends or family-- I will always recommend Richard. Don't trust just anyone with your case-- It is serious and can affect you for years to come. Choosing the right lawyer is just as important as choosing the right doctor. Make sure you put your case in the right hands and who will truly fight for your very best interest.

I would highly recommend Mr. Richard Hornsby to anyone who is in need of a criminal defense attorney. Richard is very knowledgeable in criminal law. He is extremely well prepared and thorough. He also spends as much time as the client needs to prepare for your case. His court room command is outstanding. He is very personable and is excellent in making sure the client understands the legal jargon and presents the clients case in a very strong manner to the court and/or jury. I have seen many lawyers in action over the years but I say Mr. Richard Hornsby is by far the Best.

Called to seek advice regarding an upcoming injunction proceeding. Being that this is the first time finding myself in this situation, and an abuse victim, I would expect compassion from the attorney that I hire. Unfortunately, this attorney is RUDE and has no compassion at all. In fact, he would not even let me finish explaining my situation but instead rudley interrupted me by saying, "Do you have an actual question?". Extremely unprofessional. I am happy to take my case elsewhere!

Response from the owner - a month ago
Ms. Betts (or should I call you Stephanie since this is a fake account): While it is true I asked if you had "an actual question," I only did so after asking you two previous times what questions I could answer for you. As you know you called me minutes before I was about to close and remarked, "I know you're about to close, but could you answer a few questions for me?" My response was "sure, what questions can I answer for you." You then went off on procedural tangents explaining that your case was coming up soon, you were not even sure if you needed an attorney, and you were not sure if I was the right type of attorney. Ironically, you never even got around to telling me what your case was about, much less that you were a victim of some sorts. Regardless, each time I asked you to tell me about your situation and what questions I could answer for you, you declined to ask an actual question. So yes, on the third time of you going off on a tangent without asking a question, I interjected with "whether you had an actual question." While I realize this may have been curt, I very much wanted to close for the day and go see my children before they went to sleep. You knew it was late since you remarked as much when I answered. Regardless, to me, needlessly taking up someone's time right before they are about to close even though they have offered to answer any questions you may have is much ruder than politely asking a direct question to someone looking for free advice.

If you're looking for an aggressive and knowledgeable advocate who provides you with the level of reassurance needed matters, I highly recommend Richard. I found Richard to be very personable and available to answer any questions I had. I will refer him to any future business that I encounter.
