May have just ordered an Intel RealSense camera.

In the interest of science, of course. Not logging into my PC with my face. Not at all.

Apparently Apple won't pay artists royalties for streaming their music during the 3 month Apple music trial?

Taylor Swift's gonna love that.

The one where +Alex Dobie and I get mesmerized by Taipei tech shopping.

It's also home to a big...

We're approaching 60 new posts today on Windows Central. Mostly from E3. I'm exhausted.

And I'm not even there.

Lacing up my AC boots again for this one.

Biggest venue Moto has hired in London since they started being in the UK again. This should be good.

'Your relationship status is about to change' Motorola has started sending out invites for a press event on July 28 in New York City. What will we see? A new Moto G is likely in light of recent leaks, but we wouldn't rule out the possibility of higher-end stuff as well. Moto's invite is pretty coy…

These poor bastards. Striking because they're being told they're going to be working nights sometimes to provide a 24/7 service. (Or as I understand from the media)

Oh and they apparently get a 2 grand lump sum as well.

My heart bleeds. My wife has spent best part of a decade in the NHS and is still nowhere close to this salary. So no, I have no sympathy for them. Not at all.

I have sympathy for the people who's days have been ruined because of this.

I've been in a job where night work was forced on me. I had a choice. Do it or leave. My union didn't fight for me. I needed the wage so I did it.

Maybe the tube goes automated like many cities around the world? Then what would happen? These people should value a well paid job.

Total Joke. Piss poor attitude for a bunch of overpaid button pushers basically. Between their leave and benefits they really need a reality check.

There's a bit of a witch hunt lately against data-driven services. But it wasn't long ago that the torch-bearers were singing a different tune. Today Apple executives will take the stage at the keynote address for the Worldwide developer conference. WWDC. I'll be watching. Like Google I/O… #android

Waze - the user-data-driven nav aid - is my favorite app. So far as I'm aware, it's the best example of a corporation using my (and everyone else's) data for a purpose I like. It has access to everything on my phone, but it's owned by Google - and Google already has access to everything on my phone. They need it to provide the syncing and backup service I also find incredibly useful.
I recently upgraded my phone and got the "permission" pop-up for the latest version of Twitter. I've never tweeted a thing, but I used it every day for following news that interested me. For some reason it wants access to my contact list. I now don't have Twitter on my phone, because I don't trust Twitter with my contacts list. There's nothing I do with Twitter that could possibly warrant it having access to my contacts.
Two ends of the spectrum. Give me something I consider valuable enough, and I'll give you access to my info. Google does, Twitter doesn't. I'm looking forward to Android M, where I can selectively turn off permissions for apps. I'd love to have Twitter back, as long as I can tell it my contacts are not part of the deal.
