Forbes says that Google+ is effectively dead.  I can see that could be the case given the activity (or inactivity) in my circles.  Google made the perfect social media platform for the anti-social.  We all wait for someone in our circles to post something so that we can see it three months later when we bother to check Google+.
Google needs to rethink its mission statement and delight its customers

"People prefer Facebook to Google+, fundamentally because Google’s approach to social isn’t fun."  I actually prefer Google+ because it does a job without a bunch of cute crap and game requests getting in the way. And the group functionality is actually really good.  Wait, by that statement does it mean I'm not a "people" :)

Great to see SteamOS getting some manufacturer attention.  It's mostly smaller players but Dell is on board.  I'll stick with a more desktop oriented distribution but games that run on SteamOS should run on there as well.
Summary: It's official. Linux gaming is going big time. Valve just announced more than a dozen new hardware Steam boxes from major gaming PC OEMs such as Alienware, Falcon Northwest, and Gigabyte

If you're routinely posting stuff where you feel like you need to disable comments then I probably don't want you in my circles.   I know that's a blow to you but I'm sure you'll get by without me seeing your pat talking points infographic.

+GNOME  users, now you can have your Linux back.  The folks at +funtoo Linux have GNOME 3.12 working without the heinous requirement for systemd (ptooey!).
GNOME 3.12 is HERE... - posted in News and Announcements: You may have noticed that GNOME 3.12.2 is now part of Funtoo Linux, and does *not* require systemd.   Many thanks to Dantrell B. for spearheading the effort to make this happen!   With GNOME 3.12 integrated into our tree, we were able to unfork a lot of ebuilds and align more closely with Gentoo.   For information on how to install GNOME 3.12, see GNOME First Steps on the wiki. The approac...

I'm so old school that I still keep my own digital music library instead of using some new fangled streaming service.  After years of getting by with the stock firmware on my Sansa music players I decided to give RockBox a try just because the Clip Zip doesn't show the current track number in a playlist.  I should have made the switch a long time ago.

On Saturday the surviving Doolittle Raiders opened the 1896 cognac that they have saved for this day for over half a century. They had their final reunion and drank a last toast to their departed comrades. They've been toasting at every reunion since the late 1940s using silver goblets engraved with each man's name so that it can be read right right side up or upside down. As each man as passed they've turned his goblet upside down. Now only four remain right side up and they've completed their final mission.

God bless all of our courageous Veterans.
