Paradise Found and Savored on the Islands of St Thomas

While you may not locate this marvelous private Villa on your smart phone’s GPS, it’s actually quite easy to find.

And whoa what a find it is… Villa Marbella Suites’ view overlooking Frenchman’s Bay is nothing short of breathtaking and awe-inspiring. When you arrive you start feeling the relaxation vide almost immediately.

Even before you depart your vehicle you experience the stunning views from all sides. Approaching the front porch area you are met with a warm smile and a cheerful greeting from the Innkeepers Leah and Gunnar Watson. This wonderful couple are so gregarious they make you immediately feel at home.

Plus the Watson’s knowledge of St Thomas and the entire Virgin Islands and their gracious willingness to share is comforting and extremely useful. In fact Gunnar even owns and operates a power boat charter business and can take you on a nice day on the Caribbean Sea taking you to St John and all the islands of the British Virgin Islands. Quite a special day to be sure.

The grounds of VMS seem to be meticulously landscaped with a wide variety of bushes and trees with flowers galore. Plus we spotted fruit trees and papayas, banana and mangoes.

And if you’re a bird-watcher you’ll love this place as it’s replete with all types and varieties of colorful and active flying critters. One of my fond memories from our stay is of course all the hummingbirds shooting back and forth attaining their nectar from every imaginable flower on the property. Wonderful scene.

The Villa itself is situated on the most beautiful property – so that every suite faces the gorgeous crystal-clear multi-hued blue waters of the Caribbean. The spectacular vistas can be viewed from each of the room and their respective balcony and desks and make for a calm and relaxing time spent on vacation.

The room as stayed in was spacious and roomy and had all the creature-comforts you would expect from a very nice guesthouse or vacation rental. We had available a kitchenette with microwave, small stove and oven, fridge, sink and more.

The bathroom was well-appointed and not only was the shower sizable, water pressure perfect (not always the case in the Caribbean) but one of my favorites was the towels were fluffy and fresh smelling (also not typical for Caribbean villas) which really makes you feel wonderful after a day at the beach.

The bed was perfect size and quite comfortable with fresh smelling linens and fluffy pillows making slipping into you nighty slumber a breeze.

The other marvelous thing about the best villa on St Thomas was the fact that they provide (in every room as I understand) all the beach-going accoutrements you’ll need for a day with your toes in the sand and hinny in the sea.

Available right inside our closet were beach chairs, beach towels, and a beach bag to put out stuff into. And speaking of other stuff, the innkeepers also supply each room with a variety of bug-spray and sunscreen to choose from. Seems they thought of everything.

What really made Villa Marbella special however was the serene and secluded nature of the place. We hung out by the large crystal-clear pool on the massive deck and were accompanied by only one other couple. You certainly can’t get that form these mega-resorts, that’s for sure.

And true to form, the gracious owners made sure we had all the comfy lounge-chair cushions to chill and floaty-thingies for the refreshing pool anytime we needed them. Plus there is a large guest barbeque grill to be used anytime you wish as well. What could be better, right?

No write-up or blog post would be complete without another mention of the spectacular views from the decks and balconies of Villa Marbella Suites. Stunning would be word that begins to get close but frankly it’s hard to capture just the right nomenclature it’s so amazing. The views are overlooking world-famous Frenchman’s Bay and the St Thomas Marriott. You can sit on the pool deck or your own deck and watch the Cruiseship and super-yachts some into Charlotte Amalie harbor- the main harbor on the downtown area of St Thomas.

Plus on a clear day you can easily see is other US Virgin Islands of St Croix in the distance and various other small islands dotting the horizon. Truly magnificent.

So on your next trip to the tropics you’d do well to consider St Thomas island and when you do, be sure to go online and book direct with Villa Marbella Suites, in our opinion heaven on earth vacation rentals Paradise Found - You’ll love it and smile so wide you could eat a banana sideways.
