The museum is a must see when you are in Virginia.  Be sure to take a tour rather than trying to sort it out for yourself.

Our Moving truck has been used by 100's of local non-profits over the years.  If you belong to such an organization, it's yours to use in Whatcom County as long as it's not already spoken for.

Did you see mention of the Johnson Team moving truck in the Bellingham Herald over the weekend? House 2 Home , one of the Johnson Team's featured moving truck users of the quarter was featured in their Volunteer View section. Here's what House 2 Home has to say about us: "The Johnson Team sponsors House 2 Home and makes its moving truck available to community organizations and their clients.

The Battle of Petersburg resulted in some 60,000 casualties, lasted for about 9 1/2 months & may be remembered by some as the battle in which Pennsylvania coal miners excavated a 500+ ft tunnel  under the Confederate line. They then packed the tunnel with 8,000 #'s of powder & lit the fuse.  As luck would have it, the fuse fizzled out.  Two Union Soldiers went back in the tunnel, repaired the fuse & then ran like heck. The rest is history http://goo.gl/vOi2o

If you ever have a chance to visit this site, you should.

The wanderer Upon a mountain height, far from the sea, I found a shell, And to my listening ear the lonely thing Ever a song of ocean seemed to sing, Ever a tale of ocean seemed to tell. How came the shell upon that mountain height? Ah, who can say Whether there dropped by some too careless hand, Or whether there cast when Ocean swept the Land, Ere the Eternal had ordained the Day? Strange, was it not? Far from its native deep, One song it sang,-- Sang of the awful mysteries of the tide, Sang of the misty sea, profound and wide,-- Ever with echoes of the ocean rang. And as the shell upon the mountain height Sings of the sea, So do I ever, leagues and leagues away,-- So do I ever, wandering where I may,-- Sing, O my home! sing, O my home! of thee. 1883. Eugene Field
Introduction
For the past 24 years I've been given the opportunity to play a small part in one of the most exciting decisions a person can make helping 100’s find the home of their dreams It’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly and one which continues to excite me

Beyond that, my passion is to travel in the footsteps of those who have gone before me trying to understand their journey so that I can better understand mine.

To that end, I've:

Visited the homes of Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison & Monroe
Seen where Napoleon crossed the Alps at St-Bernard Pass
Ridden an elephant through the gates of Angkor Wat
Hiked the Blue Ridge, Appalachian & Pacific Crest Trails
Followed Lee, Mead, Pickett & Chamberlain at the Battle of Gettysburg
Looked into the crater of Mt Vesuvius
Viewed the "Laetoli Footsteps" in Tanzania considered to be the 1st evidence of human footprints
Flew off the deck of aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge
Hiked to edges of Mt Blanc's glacier
Stood at Fort Portobello imagining the fleets of Sir Francis Drake & Henry Morgan at anchor
Wandered the groundsof the Hiroshima Peace Park
At Appomattox envisioned the Confederate Army's surrender to Grant
Wandered the Roman ruins of Aosta & Rome
Hiked the jungles of Viet Nam, Laos & Cambodia
Sat next to President Lincoln's box in Ford's Theater
Eaten street food in Dar Salam, San Salvadore, Olongapol , Zanzibar & Colon
Traveled across the Isthmus of Panama on the Panama Canal Railway
Ridden a gondola in the Grand Canal
Tent camped in the Serengeti
Stood in awe of Leonardo Da Vinci's "Last Supper" & Michelangelo's "David"
Walked the grounds of the Mayan ruins Copan

What’s next? I have a date with Christopher Columbus . He needs some help getting his ships to the New World - I figure I'm just the guy for the job.

If l see you on the trail someplace – maybe we can share a story, some trail mix or a photo of what we each call home but in some small way, try to bridge the gap that seems to separate our worlds.

You can meet on the Web or our Blog.
