+Rich Hickey: Scratch my request (whatever that was worth) for SQLite support - turns out I was working with the assumption that Datomic Free was either memory only (as it was in its initial alpha/beta release) or that it wouldn't be production ready for small systems/applications.

I've been reading up on your comments related to this on Google groups and the Datomic Blog and was very happy to find that Datomic Free is in fact production ready for small systems/applications, what I like to call Small Data. That's perfect for me. I'm now wading deep into Datomic - thank you!

Every one of those new out-of-this-world features is like someone banging my head against the wall saying "When are you gonna realize you need to learn this stuff?!?"

The case is for using Amazon EBS, not S3. In this case the transactor must be hosted at Amazon, not Heroku.

Cool.  Congratulations to Rich.  I have been longing for a Db like this for nearly 9 years!!  Looked into RDF and name/value storages.  This is clearly the way to go.  One thing I want to see as part of datum is the source of the fact.  For example, in systems, it could be a userid (external, user or system).  This essentially states that "this is the fact as of this time, and stated here by this".  Does it make sense to you all?  Curious.

Anyway, thanks.  looking forward to my experiments with datomic free edition.

Rich, I listened to your Intro to Datomic on the Datomic website. Really exciting new approach to databases! And I see you haven't lost your amazing gift for explaining things in direct, plain English.

I'll be speaking at QCon New York (http://qconnewyork.com/qcon-nyc-2012/) in June, and they gave me this discount code: HICK100
It should save you $100 during registration.

hello!
I know it's not related to the current subject.
We recently discover Clojure as part of a course we are taking in college and we have few questions on it..
1. Is Clojure support duck typing? if it is, how can we see it?
2. Does Clojure work in dynamic scope or static scope?
3. Does Clojure achieved the purpose for which it was developed?
It would be great if you reply as soon as possible.
thank you very much!!!
