Last month, I started my newest project, building a MAME arcade cabinet. The technology side didn't seem very intimidating to me but the woodworking side was a new challenge. I had to purchase a table saw, a router and a few other tools to get the job done. I learned a lot about woodworking throughout the project; mostly to choose your pieces of wood wisely and that I need to be more patient when sanding.
In the process, I cut myself, gave myself a third degree burn with a hot glue gun, spent too much money and cut a hole in a mop bucket that was misappropriated as a saw horse but thankfully in the end it all worked out. As always I had my helper Dash egging me on. It's not perfect but I'm quite happy with the outcome not only is it a full blown arcade game, but thanks to a thumping sound system and some slick software it's also a full blown jukebox (Not to mention that it is still as a fully functioning computer).
Anyway, I recently finished the actual building of it and I wanted to share some pictures. At this point, I'm working on the side art. I'm considering adding some Dali or Escher artwork to match the motif of my office but I haven't made up my mind. Any artwork ideas?
