Great to hear from our State Senator, Steve Farley on the possibilities for extending Tucson Modern Streetcar. private funding at $15M per mile is very doable!  Property values double and businesses grow 50% to 300% in one year. Takes around 18 months to complete if funding is in place. Exciting and Tucson very visible with its success. This is a great committee within Tucson Metro Chamber and it is chaired by Sherry Downer of Fennemore and Craig, our client!!

Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage
Some drivers have no insurance or do not have enough insurance. The best way to protect yourself from damages caused by these drivers is to buy Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverages. This coverage does not pay for damages to your vehicle or other property. If you had Collision coverage, this would pay for damage to your vehicle caused by an uninsured or underinsured driver.

Get the coverage you want for your valuable personal items
Your camera equipment , your electronics, your diamond ring...you may think your property insurance covers the full cost of these high-value personal items but that may not be correct. A standard homeowner policy includes coverage for jewelry and other precious items such as watches and furs and these items are covered for losses caused by all the perils included in your policy such as fire, windstorm, theft and vandalism. However, there are special limits of liability for certain items, meaning that the insurer will not pay more than the amount specified in the policy. To help make premiums more affordable most insurance companies set lower limits on certain high-value items such as jewelry, electronics, fine art, etc.
Add a Personal Articles Floater
Additional coverage designed to protect your valuables with limits above what your homeowners policy provides - called a Personal Articles Floater - can protect your belongings when the value is higher than the limits stated in your homeowner policy. Before purchasing a floater, the items you wish to cover or schedule must be professionally appraised. The cost of this service varies. Those items are then covered with their own specific limits and fewer exclusions, giving you broader coverage.
Farmers offers floater coverage for:
* Jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings, watches, etc)
* Furs
* Fine art (paintings, statues, tapestries, etc)
* Silverware/goldware
* Firearms
* Cameras and equipment
* Musical instruments

What are my home rates based on?

Homes are insured for Replacement Cost, not Market Value. There are many variables which may cause the cost of reconstructing your home to be higher than the current market value. For example, if a home is out of date or in need of many repairs, the market value might decrease over time while reconstruction cost increases. Plus the market value will dip during tough times due to a reduction of buyers, but it will cost just as much to rebuild it.

Is my windshield covered for repair?

Yes. As long as you have comprehensive coverage, but you will have to pay your comprehensive deductible for a windshield replacement.
You sometimes have the option of paying additional premium for an endorsement to make the glass claim a zero deductible, however it is hard to justify paying over $40 per year for this endorsement to save the $100 deductible cost. You must have claims more than one every 2 years.
We recommend a $100 deductible for comprehensive to cover the glass.

Am I covered when I rent a car?
Yes! When you rent a vehicle that can be considered a replacement for the vehicle listed on your personal auto policy, your same coverage extends to a rental. However, the rental company can hold you liable for lost business while the car is not available. This is not covered.

The Importance of Roof Maintenance

and how it impacts your homeowner's Insurance. The monsoon season's official start date is 6/15, but storms could start sooner!

At Rich Ferreira Agency, we want you to know just how important it is to keep your roof in in tip-top shape. Monsoon season for southern Arizona is quickly approaching, and if you haven't had your roof inspected by a professional, it could end up costing you a fortune when the storms finally hit.

 Most people think that any damage to your home caused by a storm is automatically covered by insurance.

 NOT TRUE!

 If your roof is already damaged by wear and tear or not properly maintained, any further damage to your dwelling that involves the roof WILL NOT BE COVERED by your insurance. This is an industry standard which applies to you no matter who your home is insured with.

 Please have your roof inspected by a trusted roofing professional and make any necessary repairs before our wonderfully unpredictable Tucson weather has a chance to wreak havoc on your home and your bank account. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
