I'm an Albuquerque real estate agent who strives to be a trusted advisor, not just a paper-pusher or a used car salesman!

Here's a blog post that talks about the difference from real estate blogger +Karen Highland.

Is your real estate agent a trusted adviser? Or a useful idiot?
Yep, you read that correctly. Buying or selling a home is one of the largest financial transactions that most people will make in their lifetime. Having a real estate agent who is your trusted adviser is the most important aspect, and can often make or break a successful transaction.
I've added some great stories from some seasoned, accomplished real estate agents: +Lynn Pineda talks about an unfortunate short sale, +Andrew Fortune shares a story about the possibility of an unethical agent, and +Rich Cederberg shares a vlog post about...it's hard to even imagine...an agent who doesn't use email or text!
Also embedded is my listly list of articles that help buyers and sellers with tips about interviewing a real estate agent, from +Bill Gassett +Kyle Hiscock +Ruth Lerner Realtor.com and U.S. News.

Is Your Real Estate Agent A Trusted Adviser? or a Useful Idiot? Buying and Selling real estate is likely the most complicated and expensive financial step in most people's lives. You'll want a trusted adviser, not a useful idiot...here's why, and how to tell the difference.

Searching Homes for Sale in Paradise Valley AZ? Why not search for homes by high school!

Great schools should be important to all home buyers whether or not you plan to start a family. Why? Because good schools support house values.

Introduction

I started selling Albuquerque Real Estate soon after I moved to New Mexico. I started hanging around the real estate business when my mom was an office manager for a real estate company back in the 70’s. My first job involved stuffing envelopes for real estate agents in her office with property flyers. Later, when my mom went to work for a real estate development team, I hung around new home construction sites watching homes be built.

I’m from Chicago, I went to Northwestern University and studied music. I was a very successful freelance musician in Chicago, playing everything from symphony orchestra gigs to Broadway style shows. I also booked engagements for other musicians. It was contracting other musicians that awakened the business person in me.

When I decided to make a career change the choice was obvious, it had to be real estate.

When I got into the real estate business it was the romance of showing beautiful homes and the idea of running my own business that excited me. Now that I'm going on my ninth year as an Albuquerque Realtor I realize it's really the people I get to work for and the people I get to work with that make selling real estate fun and exciting for me.

I also love to write. When I was in college a professor I had encouraged me to develop my writing skills. I thought he was crazy! Now I wish I had taken him seriously because I do love to write. In fact I write about real estate almost daily on my Albuquerque Real Estate Websites. It’s a labor of love, I enjoy the challenge of trying to express what I’m saying clearly so that anyone, no matter what their level of experience with real estate, can understand.

I love reading about SEO or search engine optimization and engaging on social media sites. I’m hoping some of my friends will start to hang out here on Google+ so I can be more active. Or maybe I just need to get new friends!

My wife and I love visiting Ojo Caliente! It's a doable day trip from Albuquerque up to Ojo Caliente, it takes maybe 2 hours or so. We enjoy soaking in the hot sprigs tubs, then usually we have a hour long massage, lunch and a little hanging around in one of the hammocks. It's a totally relaxing experience!

I posted a picture of my damaged vehicle to my Facebook wall, and within an hour Wayne Overall, a friend of a friend, had sent me an estimate for repair. Not only was the estimate fast and easy, it was accurate too. The work turned out great. I would highly recommend Overall Services!

They have great pizza, the crust is fantastic, made in a real pizza oven. I always get the antipasto and a beer. It makes for a perfect meal. It can be very crowded on Fri and Sat, so be ready to go early or wait, but it's worth it.
