Hey gang;
In case you missed last weeks premiere of Suzanne Langlois’s Blog, “Dial ‘L’ for Lounge”, here’s Chapter 1 & Chapter 2 of this exciting new Film Noir style Novella revolving around the adventures of my alter ego, Mr. Lounge. If you have a taste for Detective Stories from the 40’s, a pinch of Pulp Fiction and a twist of Modern, your gonna love this concoction.
Mystery, music and mixology...what else do you need!

The official Cocktail of Mr. Lounge's 2011 Yule Log Video.
'Cran-tini'.
Started with one but ran into video production hic-ups and ended up making and drinking 3...in a 1/2 hour window. Got a little sloppy towards the end but these are the sacrifices we make for the art! Cheers....

3 part Vodka
1 part Cranberry juice
A coating of vermouth
Shaken, strained & garnished w/ Lime twists and Vodka soaked fresh cranberries.

Today is the 45 year anniversary of the original broadcast of the Yule Log. WPIX channel 11 in NYC ran a video loop of a log fire burning to give their regular morning shift employees, the morning off to spend with their families on Christmas. It was also a gift to the many New Yorkers that didn't have fireplaces.

I thought it would be a perfect Retro platform to showcase my second Holiday rendition, "All Through The Night", a Welsh folk song that I updated in the Modern Lounge / Smooth Jazz genre.
With the help of Joe Grieco on piano and Tom Majesky on guitar, I came up with a contemporary groove and version yet still retaining the beauty and simplicity of the classic melody.
For the video shoot I set up a camera to capture the fireplace in HD and included a separate stereo recording of the log burning audio, to make the visual experience as real as possible.
Using this classic holiday, yet not that well know tune, enables the Yule Log video to be used throughout the year whenever a warm, cozy fire is needed.

Here's a link to last years Holiday Classic:

Cheers!
