Partial panorama taken from the top of one of the "Little Bears" stones. It shows the depletion of sand in the beach by the winter storms, early this year. The sand was not taken away but just pulled out (it shows underwater) and it will be replaced again by the continuation of steady low swells from northwest.
See the edited version without the shaking (this spot was quite windy and the position unstable) and slowed down to allow some time to explore.

Fascinating and wonderful documentary of Ursa as it is. Indeed it has losts a lot of sand which it had been gaining in the last decade. As you say, Ricardo, the sand has been moved and in 0:18 an offshore sandbank shows clearly above the sea's surface, which is something I have never here. Thank you for posting this video too.

My first visit to Ursa was in August 1987 in the evening when we went down to watch the sunset. My aunt had a house in Atalaia near Azoia and we were spending most of the week there. My first photos of Ursa are from a wonderful evening ten years later. In fact I have one of them enlarged over my bed! As I have stated before, it is my intention to scan my old photos and share them. I just need time (don't we all?)... As usual it is my pleasure to share them and the fact that you have obtained interesting observations from them pleases me more as these are, after all, part of our collective memory. I enjoy looking at old photos, seeing how places have changed. A few years ago, Olá (the ice creams) were giving away postcards with old pictures of Lisbon. Sadly it seems that not many people were taking them as a vendor kindly gave me the whole series when I showed interest! I would really love to see photos of Praia da Ursa (amongst other places) in other times.
