Life's paths can be funny sometimes.  I ran a marketing agency for around 18 years.. what a trip.  If someone in the same boat was to ask me; I'd say one of the most important strategic planning pieces of work is solid budgeting.  Not because it's like some rigid bit of planning; but because it opens up your thinking. +Sarah Jacob has the goods here even if she does use cheesy clip art.
You probably know that running a business on a budget is a good idea. But the vast majority of business owners operate without one. Why is that? They may not be motivated by a clear understanding of WHY it’s so

Funny, with the web-form for the Net Promoter Score yesterday, only 10 people responded... whereas when we did the pieces of paper; everyone did!

Looks like a great trip Ric! Glad to see you enjoyed my old neighborhood. That spanakopitta you were eating looked good! Did you make it to the Akropolis Museum? Didn't see any pictures from there.

Today #usDragons  celebrated a milestone! +Etela Ivkovic  who was Employee #1, celebrated her 7th year with the company. We are a company that likes to measure things but, Eta's impact on the company, and the lives of all current and past Dragons, is immeasurable. Thanks Eta for all that you do for us!

Enjoyed the diverse personalities and the beer on Saturday nite and the fact that many attendees were coming from the real world of digital marketing and brought their real issues to bear!

We should use this team as a resource pool for the development of big business ideas that are thinking big enough to employ a big team! BIG energy and big ideas and bright team = formula for something BIG

This, yes.

Chicken or the egg? SEO or Web Dev? When creating a web site, +Caitlin Boroden suggests that thinking of #SEO   (and #CRO   and #socialmedia ) at the start of a web design project is smart and saves time. [paul]
Sometimes it feels like only in a fairytale world could Web Dev, SEO, Design, CRO and Social all work together. But with proper integrated website development,

Introduction

Former CEO and co-founder of DragonSearch, one of the finest boutique digital marketing agencies in the world. On my way there, I had over 20 years of experience in graphic design, information architecture, web development and digital marketing.  I'm fortunate to have created an organization that has attracted some incredibly talented individuals, which has enabled me to write books and provide presentations on what I've learned to audiences world-wide. I was also a guest columnist for Marketing Land, Social Media Monthly, Sensei Marketing, BrandFlair, and other popular blogs.

None of us are just one thing, though. I'm also a painter and artist (you can see some of my work here).

Pretty disappointed that these guys couldn't find a way to see me on an emergency basis for something that would require all of five minutes. Not the right people for me.

OMG - these guys charge $20 to have a payoff letter faxed. It's free if sent in the mail, $20 to fax? Stories like this are what we love when we're doing talks about bad customer service.

Maxwell's is heaven on earth for drummers. The staff is wonderful - knowledgeable and helpful. If you're a serious drummer, this is a must-visit stop when you're in NYC. Or even North America.
