Man of Steel just opened up this past weekend with a record breaking $125 million in ticket sales, and we are honored that AEA mics and preamps were part of making superstar composer Hans Zimmer's vision become real. Famed scoring engineer Alan Meyerson chose his favorite R44C "Bessie" ribbon mic powered by an AEA TRP preamp as his main spot mic to capture the beautiful Artot-Alard Stradivarius violin played by Ann Marie Calhoun at the Warner Bros stage. The intimate violin performance serves to create a wonderful contrasting element to the explosion of Superman's home planet Krypton, in Zimmer's exceptional score.
