The silver sail unfurled and stretched taut as it was filled by the solar wind. Flown by the sun like a kite, LightSail-A glided through the air and began its sightseeing tour from Earth’s orbit. Then on June 8th, 2015 whilst passing over California, this traveller remembered that it needed to call home. With the sun behind its back and fully deployed solar sails in full view, it took a photograph to send to its folks back home.
