I was raised Catholic, but have followed Buddhism most of my adult life. People buying ivory have a right to know that their purchase is causing incredible trauma....

Progress for rhinos, as the Vietnamese Ministry of Health confirms that #rhino horn has no medicinal value.

#Vietnam is considered to be one of the world's largest markets for rhino horn, and debunking this myth is critical to ending the poaching crisis: http://bit.ly/rhinomyth.

#Ivory taken from an #elephant in Africa travels along an elaborate, and corrupt, trade chain.

See the route in AWF's new infographic: http://www.awf.org/blog/ivory-bush-market.

Canned Lion Hunting. Help the Australian government do what the SA government refuses to do - protect our lions.

In Australia, Jason Wood MP has offered his support raising the issue of canned hunting in Parliament. He now needs our help in supporting this legislation by having the public behind his campaign and by signing the petition. Please circulate far and wide and get as many people to sign as possible...it’s so very important. This petition will probably only have a life of about 2-4 weeks so urgency is required.

http://jasonwood.com.au/

Please take the time to sign and if somehow it won’t allow you due to postcode issues (we’ve had feedback that some countries are having issues whilst others are fine) then leave a message on his facebook page as these responses are being tabled too.

Have you seen what +Robert Chew has put together ? He was so inspired by the #UAV work the +IAPF ORG has been doing in aiding anti poaching, he has decided to donate all the proceeds of his 'animal robots' series to the #IAPF

As we are desperately seeking the necessary funds right now to step into the next phase of UAV testing, please help share this post or buy some of Roberts awesome work!

Stay tuned we are about to launch an appeal for help.

California-based digital artist Robert Chew created an amazing series called “Big Five” to support the campaign of IAPF. The Big Five project is a series of illustrations re-imagining conservationists with extraordinary technology to fight against poachers: robots inspired by wild animals.

To protect wildlife in volatile regions by aerial reconnoissance using RPAS
Introduction
The IAPF UAV program will bring unmanned aerial aircraft to the fight against poaching of  the worlds wildlife.
This mission will not be simple but entails the following:

1) Increase the area already protected by foot, in a safer and more cost effectively manner than conventional aircraft.

2) Utilising thermal imaging techniques, have better intelligence to relay to APU's (anti poaching units) already operating in private and national parks.

3) Increase the poaching prevention rate by being more effective in finding poachers in the first place.

4) Provide a long term deterrent to potential poaching activity.
