Figures are so highly detailed these days (especially the resin ones) that doing a great paint job is getting harder and harder.

So.

What is the consensus here, should I paint component parts? Paint the assembled figure unbased? Or just assemble everything and add the base and then paint it (as I do now)?

I love Netrunner. The original was my favourite ever CCG (and I played a lot of them). The FFG version isn't quite as slimline and elegant as the original but they've added some nice twists.
