TL;DR? Why not just go watch another five second video of a kitten with it’s head in a toilet roll, or a 140 character description of a meal …

The other day I shared an article (http://goo.gl/1jKkQ) about the 10 technology skills that will no longer get you hired. Today I found an article about the 10 tech skills that WILL get you hired.... today.

Some current favorites are HTML (I'd personally specify HTML5), Java/JavaScript, C#, and Python (which my 11 year old daughter has already taught herself).

The salaries don't look too shabby either, just keep in mind that's probably going to happen in tech hubs (Silicon Valley, Boston, Philly, NYC - where am I missing?) and with a bit of experience.

The coolest visualization of the Milky Way I've ever seen

Okay, take a few minutes (or hours) and explore this amazing 3-D visualization of the Milky Way, including 100,000 stars. It was created by some folks at Google - a demonstration of what's possible within the Chrome browser.

Enjoy, explore, don't blame me if you get lost in the Milky Way.

Moral of the story:  Don't do stupid stuff with z-index, unless necessary, and you will be fine.

Very interesting though.

So I was looking through the source for Hangouts, and found the list of easter egg shortcuts. They are:

/bikeshed, /ponies, /ponystream, /pitchforks, and /shydino

Also, here is a list of the valid emoticon key combinations:

Was looking for things from steam on linux that I could install/play with without being in the limited beta.
I found "hldsupdatetool.bin".
I ran it, and it created a "steam" binary.
I ran the steam binary, and it spit out a bunch of stuff about updating and exited.
I ran it again with a -h argument (often is help in command line linux stuff), and I got a bunch of stuff about how to use the steam binary.
One thing in particular stood out to me, and that's the "list" command, which   is described as "list: View available games".

So I ran that command, and I got this wonderful list of games that after reading stuff in the steam for linux community, already all run!:
