Interesting info on the "Confederate Flag" that wasn't actually the real Confederate Flag.

Grey, we discussed this.  You're not supposed to out Southerners who quietly display the Bonnie Blue in discreet locations to honor 83.3% of an entire generation of their non-slave owning family who was killed fighting a rich man's war.  Hypothetically... of course.

I still use Picasa to purge, tag and geotag my photos prior to uploading them to Drive (formerly dropbox). It's cool how they show up in G+ Photos and now the new Photos app but it is ANNOYING how if I change the original picture on my hard drive (or Google Drive) the revised picture does not change everywhere in the Photos app. It will then upload a new version but only if I give it a new name.  I want the pics to sync everywhere!
Google launched Google Photos today. For months now people have been talking about how Google was going to decouple photos from Google+ and create a standalone photo product and today at I/O they finally unveiled their latest effort to the world. Last August when rumors about this new service ...

In my ongoing rants about +Google Drive. It's so much better than +Dropbox but the lack of a "Download All" button just kills it.
Someone commented on my last post about Google Drive vs Dropbox and said that only Drive requires people to sign in when you send them a link to a folder. This is untrue. When I share a dropbox link to someone without a dropbox account and they click on it this is what pops up: ...

This made me laugh when I thought of my friends trying this..... Just being your own bowls when you come to visit ok guys?
When Jada Shapiro decided to raise her daughter from birth without diapers, for the most part, not everyone was amused. Ms. Shapiro scattered little bowls around the house to catch her daughter's offerings, and her sister insisted that she use a big, dark marker to mark the bowls so that they ...

Death at sea: Syrian migrants film their perilous voyage to Europe
http://bit.ly/deathatseadoc

The deaths of 800 people in the Mediterranean have provoked a chorus of calls for action to prevent 2015 becoming the deadliest year for migrants trying to get to Europe. The Guardian's recent documentary tells the story of five friends – Moaaz, Majd, Rasha, Kinan and Khalid – who fled war-torn Syria to embark on the perilous trip to reach Europe.

Taken on the Ottawa River after sailing. There are always great sunsets here and it's even better when you can throw a bike in front of them.

Also, I've done a few preliminary tests but I don't think adding tags to your photos helps the search function in the new Photos app which is dumb.

Very exciting! I only hope that they will be sorting out the photos on Drive vs Google+ not syncing issue.... Oh and if you can use the G+ photo editor on photos in Drive this would be exactly what I am looking for.....

Google will reportedly launch its photo sharing service sometime soon

Post by +Jimmy Westenberg
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Google is very close to taking the wraps off of its new photo sharing and storage service. According to the publication's unnamed sources, the new photo tool, which will be an entirely separate service from the Google+ Photos feature, will likely be unveiled at Google I/O 2015. According to past rumors, the new photo service will allow users to upload photos to the cloud and share them to Facebook, Twi...

Same owners as the previous pub restaurant at this location. They totally changed the style and food though. Beer selection isn't too bad although when we read the beer pairings of Coors and Molson with menu items I was getting nervous. Food was good and reasonably priced. Service was good although it wasn't too busy.

It's a Canadian Tire. I can't believe the people taking their cars here to get fixed and then acting surprised when the job isn't done properly. Of course! This is a universally known fact: Canadian Tire is where n00b mechanics go to learn and bad mechanics go to teach them. However, the customer service in the store is acceptable. There is never enough people to help you find stuff though. They make things impossible to find in these stores and then don't put enough staff out to help you find it. However if you do find someone (especially one of the long-term staff) they are helpful enough. Not sure I'd trust all of their advice but they can find stuff for you.

They have several decent beers but the prices are out of sync with the other craft brewers in Ottawa. Also the naming of their beers is in poor taste. Most of them have some reference to the 'F' word. Why? Nice venue to have a pint with friends (despite the awkward location which is normal for craft breweries). Also, really cool people running the place. But, seriously the prices have to match the other breweries around town before I start going back. The beer isn't any better than Broadhead or NITA so why does it cost so much more?

Beer selection is useless. No real beer - only boring fake stuff from the big three. Sticky tables and the place is a bit grungy, yeah ok - it's a bar atmosphere so that's ok. But the food is sub-par. I live right around the corner but rarely go here. Just not worth the money.
