Touchscreen buttons that are there when you want them.
Tactus Technology is developing a system that will allow physical keys to rise from a touch screen when you need them and go away when you don't.

I leave you with these laughing owls :)

You're going to make sure it trends while I'm away, ok? And then perhaps get a screen capture of it trending so it can be recorded in history as +Lisa Davenport's first G+ day? ;) ♥

Power to owl you people!

Very interesting that US needs family docs and those that want to do it are told they are too smart for family medicine.

Interesting article! It's true that GOOD family medicine requires a lot of skill....good diagnostic and detective skills, something nurse practitioners are not trained to do because they don't have the basic science background. At the same time, with the growth of medical information over the last half decade, family medicine (and internal medicine) docs also need to understand their limitations in a specialty care, and allow those that are trained to deal with the more complex and difficult cases. I've seen way too many overconfident internal medicine doctors, and I've also seen the way little confident docs who consult and refer on everything (partially because they don't want to do any work). As physicians, we have to regain our respect and work smart and use our knowledge efficiently!

Take a moment to consider the pace of technological change. Was Kurzweil correct? Is a singularity event coming?

Straight from the wild to your computer screen, a moose that wandered into a local hospital entrance has gone viral. The moose strolled into the garage at Providence Alaska Medical Center on Saturday...

Very cozy restaurant, good food (loved the fondue), fine service. My wife and I were there for almost 3 hours eating and playing Scrabble (there's games). Cool atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Great car detailing/washing place. Very friendly staff (the owner is super nice, he and his wife run the business), good location (Overland Park, but not too far from downtown), GREAT SERVICE. I honestly don't recognize the inside of my car... so clean! I definitely recommend it.

Not only is the food delicious, but it feels very home-made and healthy. If you feel like a sandwich and soup or a salad and don't feel like eating a greasy fast- food meal, this is your place. Quaint little restaurant with great atmosphere that you'd miss if it wasn't for Google/word of mouth. Definitely try the Panino sandwich (and everything else for that matter)
