A renter from Relay Rides broke the mirror on the side of my car, which dented the door, and put scratches on my door. Since the dent and the scratches fall under their 3 inch rule they only want to replace the mirror. I am arguing the dispute but you should know that they want to compartmentalize damages that happen all at once and not live up to their guarantee. My car has over 1000 dollars in damages but they only want to pay for the mirror.
Response from the owner - a month ago
Hi, Ronnie. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear that you are not pleased. We have asked our support team to review your claim.

I really like Relay Rides. They have a great selection of cars, great customer service, nice reservation starting system (SMS), and the cars are conveniently located in my neighborhood. I had a minor issue with one of their cars during a Tahoe trip and they went above and beyond to resolve it. Highly recommended. Way better than owning a car if you only need one occasionally.

1. Unusable user interface, even when you put in a date range it will still show you lots of cars unavailable within that range. 2. The cars shown as "airport available" never are, they have to be driven from outer Timbuktu TO the airport by the owner 3. It is impossible to actually get a car, 95%+ of owners deny the request (in my experience trying in three cities now), and in its infinite wisdom, relay rides only let's you request one at a time, so you can't request several and play the odds so you can be sure you actually get a car 4. I love the "car sharing" idea, I am just personally not able to use or get any good out of relay rides' particular implementation of it, which is a shame because I travel often and would love a solution like this in cities that don't have Zipcar. 5. You are much better off using Zipcar or Priceline for renting or Uber or Lyft if you only need a few trips

I must disagree with the prior reviewer. Although they have a great selection of cars at very reasonable prices, the customer service can not keep pace with the workflow. It took my girl friend three weeks and 19 emails to get enrolled, and we are still not there. The cars are rates are OK but the back office can't scale and unless you have a real emergency you have to email them and wait and wait and wait. You can also expect cryptic, user-hostile messages from the online system.
