Our team has been described many times as incredibly synergistic. Synergy is when the resulting impact is much greater than the sum of the individual parts. The easiest way I can describe it is like Diet Coke + Mentos. If you haven’t ever seen this phenomenon be sure you look it up. Both Diet Coke and Mentos are pretty tame substances but when they are put together a “soda explosion” happens. Our team is very much the same. When you have the capability to walk down the hall and get creative input on whatever you’re working on, you’re able to get constructive feedback from others you trust and keep on moving forward. Each member of the team provides a new and positive perspective to the team. Specific examples would be an editor speaking into the visual effects or VFX speaking into color or sound checking back with editorial. We strive to have a professional, creative and most of all collaborative environment that just by being around our team it rubs off on each project.

Creativity, innovative style and photorealistic images are words that we often hear to describe our work. Each of the members on our team takes even the smallest detail very seriously to make sure that each product that we put out is the highest quality possible. At any budget level, we always make the funds go farther! Our reputation is built on our people and we keep the core team intentionally small to remain “lean and mean.”

Our four partners could be considered pillars of the services we provide. The four partners — Stephen Preston, Ben Bailey, Ethan Ledden and Blake Benton form an amazing team. Together they have hundreds of thousands of hours of experience in this industry. Stephen heads up the team and works to develop relationships to bring in work and enjoys casting vision and goals. Stephen’s background is in Sound Design. Ben is the COO and Project Manager. He is great at making sure the clients are communicated with and that projects are moving along properly. Ben is also an advanced colorist and did all of the color correction for the feature film Woodlawn, multiple other features, tv shows and short form videos. Ethan is like a swiss army knife for all things video. He leads a team that is scalable to hundreds of artists that can collaboratively work on the same project. Whether it’s designing and animating a scary wraith creature from scratch to motion graphics or filling a stadium with a hundred thousand people — he can make it happen. Blake Benton heads our creative design/editorial team and has hundreds of short form videos and feature film content under his belt. Individually, we’re specialists — together we’re a powerhouse!

In a recent article, Cedar Boshan discusses Alabama's tax incentives to bring your film production and post production work to our beautiful state. The article also kindly notices how, partially due to these incentives, Red Sky Studios is getting to work on big name projects, producing high quality work at a fraction of the normal costs.
Birmingham is the place to go when it comes to post production work! It just makes sense to bring your cinematic vision to our home. Check out Auditrix's article below:

These days, technology has brought the technical capability of editing and finishing within the reach of almost anyone. The difference between a technician and true design is our team at Red Sky Studios.
Each of our team has years of experience in film and TV production and post production so we know what types of challenges there might be and we’re ready and prepared. What our clients say they like most about us is that they “feel like family” and that they “always get the A-Team.” We always strive to have a “you’re family” atmosphere at our studios — whether you’re with us for a day of color correction or eight weeks of editorial on your feature. Our facility is designed with busy producers or directors in mind with relaxing couches and even a laptop bar area to keep you going on all your projects. When the day is done, there are theaters, restaurants and hotels very close by.

Working at Red Sky Studios allows us to meet some of the most amazing content producers in the world. As a full scale post production facility, we are often compared to a group of diamond cutters. When the footage arrives it’s like a dirty rock. The Editors work to start cutting it down into sections that are starting to look more and more clean and finished, continuing to refine the material. Sometimes there are imperfections that need to be fixed or additional elements added in. The Visual Effects team can take care of that process. Then, all of the content is together for finishing. The Color Correction and Sound Design processes continue to polish the rock into beautiful diamonds. When the project is finished, our team provides the Director with a perfectly cut project that is polished and ready to make it's way into the world. Here is a video of some of the motion graphics that we have done!

Really cool article about Red Sky and how our VFX supervisor, Ethan Ledden, made the VFX shots for Woodlawn happen.
