Ecommerce doesn't always have to be online. We spotted this at Uniqlo where you can get your products delivered to their store for pick-up. Why so? Well, they probably realized a lot of people who work won't be at home during postal delivery hours. So Uniqlo gives their customers options - click and collect. What a smart idea!

At last week’s Marketing Mojo, we had a special after-event session – not pre-planned but it usually happens because some business owners are eager to learn more.

Check out the video below of this after-party session where Nic talks about the big question: “Where is the money?” in your business.

Marketing can sometimes be about telling people what they don’t know. If you’re in business, you often believe your customers know everything about your products like you do. Many times they don’t and they would appreciate a little enlightenment here and there. I saw this in a local supermarket and thought that it is very clever marketing from Ayam brand. What could you highlight in your marketing to educate and enlighten your customers?

Krista mentored this group during the recent Startup Weekend George Town at Paper + Toast. They came up with an idea for a programme to help teens understand career choices and life vocations. About 6 teams pitched their business ideas at the end of the 3-day session. The idea is to get people working in teams to come up with feasible business ideas and perhaps later turn them into real businesses. Startup Weekend is part of a global programme to encourage entrepreneurship.

Unveiling our game to the people at Settlements, a co-working space on Argyll Road. The building is not just a co-working space but also a hotel (Urban H) and houses a cafe (More Arang). They're interested to host our game sessions and workshops so we're looking forward to this new collaboration!

Nic checking out some of the graphic work at the graduating showcase of some final year KDU students over the weekend.

Graphic design is important to design, be it web or print.

However, graphic artists and designers get tripped up when they decide to shift gears and move to the web. On the web, there’s programming and coding issues when one is designing websites.

You must contend with search engines, how they search, what ‘food’ they’re eyeing, how to give them what they need.

You must contend with how people interact with websites online, their patience levels (actually everyone is impatient about websites!), their ability to complete tasks online (many websites ask for unnecessary info which they won’t ever use anyway so why waste asking?) and lots more.

It is a whole different world compared to print design which is what you design is what you end up with when it's printed out. With the web, it's a lot more challenging.

When you first start out in business, you believe everyone is your customer. Everyone who has the capability to buy what you offer is a customer, right?

Unfortunately, this fallacy affects a lot of entrepreneurs.

As we work with entrepreneurs while designing their websites (and our websites are always focused on helping them attract the right prospects and customers), we discovered that many entrepreneurs have no idea who their ideal customers are!

Check out this week's article on our blog where we show you that defining who you want makes your marketing stronger!
