So I was looking at the small mockup I did earlier and decided that it should probably exist as an alternative to Adwaita instead of keeping it to myself and tease you with it. // Plus I needed a UI kit for future work.

Now before you get excited, I will not be developing it, I'm trying to busy myself with other things, and developing on a Linux VM is silly; I'm just going to design the whole thing and put the SVG (painfully exported and adapted to Inkscape) and possibly the CSS on Github for anyone who wants to make a good-looking, Adwaita-like theme but can't move pixels around.

How does that sound, interesting enough?

Everytime I go to my ArchVM from OS X I get this thought of "this UI/theme is huge!' For some reason I don't get the same feeling in Windows 10, maybe because I don't use it that much or maybe the large windows make up for the UI elements' size.

I always wanted GNOME to have a desktop theme, separate from this one, which accounts for touch -- /me thinks, but wastes twice as much space as the one on the right.

Also, having buttons to choose one extra option doesn't make sense, instead, choose a good default and put the other one under a checkbox. // reporting this as we speak...

I can minimize this even further by moving the 'shortcuts' tab to a global entry in the 'Settings' and do something to the 'Profiles' and 'Encoding' ones as well.

I think in this case it is important to state that this window is "Preferences". Moving the tabs into the headerbar we lose that.

For small dialogs it's not so important to put everything in the headerbar for saving space. I think the concern here is more about the perceived height of the elements and not the actual height of the chrome.

Anybody else gets irritated when people reply to an old email thread when they contact you instead of creating a new one?

I've been busy building my Behance portfolio these past few days. I thought I'd upload some of the work I did on Linux-land when I couldn't sleep. It's been a while. :)

I'm sure I'll change the "Linux UI" to something better after I've slept. :D

+António Fernandes Ah, I must re-familiarize myself with the GNOME widgets. Totally slipped my mind.
The window needs another round of cleanups, and maybe a redesign to the other tabs so the terminal maintainer may accept the design and implement it (see the bug report)

redalazri.com is now a thing! \o/

I just put together some icons and an illustration for a quick coming-soon page. Now to make it suck less on phones and probably move to SVG and animate it a bit just before actually having something to display there.

Whad'ya think? :)

I know many of you probably use DuckDuckGo. I recently grew very frustrated with it because of the very thing they claim they don't do: tracking.
Google knows about me and gives me relevant results, I get good results even if I'm not logged in, so it's not always the tracking; DDG on the other hand struggles with the results and gives me irrelevant crap most of the time. So what's the point of using DDG if, in the end, you're either going to spend time "refining" your query or just plain use !g and switch to the big G?

I know the frustration, alot of the times I have to switch out, tho the more you use it the better it gets at finding what you want. I think "Its a labour of love" really.
