Top-notch gear, Rebecca.  Those new high-tech strobes are so much more space- & power-efficient than most older double-bulb models from even a few years ago. Some serious lumens + lens quality in such a compact package... BTW: no mo G words ;))

I am creative. I can attest my mind is certainly messy most days (ok all days).   #creativemind
Creativity is very messy. According to one prominent theory, the creative process involves four stages:  preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification. This is all well and good in ...

+Rebecca Wright  Thanks for the nifty nudge on the Incubation theme -- a good insight.  Glad you mentioned it; because I'd actually over-looked that point.  So I'm guessing this... if you give yourself more leeway at the front end of any project -- for pondering, sifting the most vivid options, sorting through them all with thoughtful focus -- that would enhance the creative process for you?  That's neat; because it's uniquely your style.  My approach is often more like this ... sit quietly, meditate in a place with low noise for a brief while, when I need to gather steam for a new idea.  Then suddenly it emerges, almost like it had its own mind -- zoom -- & things move very quickly, like Kilauea by night, just rumbling & shooting up sparks -- pretty well day & night with little sleep, until the job is done.  You ideas here triggered a new one, RW..... Maybe, just as all folks have their own learning styles (visually-based, or auditory, or repetition-based, etc.)  we all likely have an infinitely varied, & intriguing array of ways to trigger then nourish creativity.  Like art, cosmology, oceanography, new music, climbing, diving, all the coolest adventure vectors on earth -- it would take a lifetime to explore just that one idea of "Incubation Period" as thoroughly as it deserves.  /  Ever wish the human lifespan was maybe 300-400 years -- just so we had more time to learn & study as many of these things as possible?  /  BTW:  I just re-read the blog again & found one more overlooked gem -- that hysterically funny photo of the Mom in the background with a sauce-pan over her head... Check the priceless befuddled expression on her little keiki  in the foreground -- he looks absolutely bamboozled -- like "eh, what da kine; what she doin' anyways?"  ;)

Christmas in Hawaii Photo taken at Sandy Beach on Oahu's south east coast during an early winter morning. At 6:45am the surfers were in the water and ready to go. What a way to start the day, right?

Wow, wow, wow. Captivating photos of the creatures seen on a black water dive on Hawaii's Big Island by a very talented photographer-Joshua Lambus.

Paying people with kindness is the BEST feeling. It enriches your own spirit while paying it forward to those who need it most. Positive energy is contagious. Although this is an ad, it delivers an important reminder.

I think Mariner's Ridge closed down? That's what I heard anyway. Kokohead is one of my faves! Have not tried Stairway to Heaven yet. I'll have to work up some courage for that one :) Sending you some virtual aloha and stay warm friends!

My favorite hike on Oahu-Makapuu Lighthouse Trail. The whales should be here soon and when they come you can see and hear them on this hike. It's my favorite hike because the views always humble me and put life into perspective. #oahu #hawaii

+Rebecca Wright  Absolutely, I hear that.  And since, in those awesome Ko'olau Mountains, there's almost a mystical meld twixt sea & sky -- right there from the summits -- some days when the mist folds in then the sun melts it away, & the whole of Windward just juts out in vibrant color, doncha feel like you're  on top of the world?   I sure do , & man that hike would be great 'bout now as the temp nudges 10 degrees in Mpls, MN...

Explored some new places on the north east side of the island today. The Byodu-In temple is a replica of the original which is in Japan.

Also did a tour at Kualoa Ranch where many famous movies have been filmed ( Jurrasic Park....50 First Dates...many more). Although the ranch is a touristy destination, the guide was great and I learned several things about Hawaii. #oahu

+Rebecca Wright    You are so blessed to be back.  Beats Europe in the dead of winter, eh? ... Warm alohas anew.  Vele Mele Kalikimaka ...  /  After hundreds of SoPac & MidPac islands visited over the last 20 years, O'ahu has to be the most fascinating, multi-faceted isle in the Mid-Pacific.  The beaches are brilliant, the Ko'olaus are cool & misty at the summits, warm & washed in refreshing rainfall below the "Pali", the cliffs.  Reefs are rich in cruisin' honu & other sacred species from cuttlefish to humuhumu-nukunuku-apua'a.  And the people in this amazing hapa melting pot are beautiful in countenance, culture & candor.  Our island, home of our dearest ohana, really is the pearl atop the Pacific "Ring of Fire."  /  Now so many questions, none apropos' for the bustling billboard of G+.  Was im Deutschland ist passiert, Freundin?  Nur eine vorübergehende Arbeits-Zuordnung oder war dem kalten deutschen Winter zu grau und ungemütlich?
