I was born in England but have lived in Spain for over half of my life now, having originally come in 1988 to spend a gap year between finishing my degree and starting work. So I suppose you could say I am by now probably Spanglish - Spanish resident with a British passport. Both countries and cultures are important to me and love popping over for family visits on cheap low-season flights when we can (thank you Easyjet and Ryanair!!!).
The past 15 years of my professional life have centred around the Internet industry. In 2000 I co-founded a family Internet start-up business, ItyIs Siglo XXI which grew to become one of Spain’s biggest Internet content groups in terms of visitor numbers, with various sites, niche social networks and apps including the lifestyle Internet portal site, euroresidentes.com and the largest Spanish-speaking recipe social network, mis-recetas.org.
At the beginning of this year Mis Recetas was acquired by Cookpad Spain, affiliate of the Japanese company Cookpad, and I am now Ceo of Cookpad Spain. The slogan of Cookpad is “Make everyday cooking fun!” and Mis Recetas “El gusto de cocinar” and since I absolutely love anything to do with food and intercultural integration, I am delighted to have a role in the global Cookpad family.
I'm generally a listener rather than a preacher (although I'm sure my family would disagree!!) , so feel much more comfortable on Google+ than other social networks like Twitter and Facebook. My circles reflect my interests - Food and cooking, Internet, Cyberwomen, Google, Graphic Design, Silicon Valley news, Geeks, Tech journalists, Music, Travel, Art and Photography. I enjoy learning from the content published by all the people in them and am amazed by and grateful for the variety and quality of the posts.
Regarding participation on Google plus, most of my posts are related to food, Internet news and business and interesting information shared by the media or other google plussers. Thanks for visiting my profile :)
