Am co-founder and ceo of Ityis Siglo XXI, Spain's 3rd largest Internet media group. I was born, bought up and studied in the UK, but I have lived in Spain ever since finishing my degree so have become what is known as Spanglish and both countries and cultures are important to me.
It&Is started as a family project 12 years ago in our attic (cliché, but true!) with Euroresidentes, a site originally intended for visitors or foreign residents in Spain. With hard work and enthusiasm it gradually evolved into something much bigger (Spain's 5th most visited website) and as the Internet changed, so did we. Our company grew and so did our projects. We made the transition from 1.0 websites to 2.0 interactive, specialised sites, tools and niche social networks. Today our media networks receive 30 million unique visits per month, forming an online community whose members contribute valuable ideas and content and inspire us to embark on new projects. We are currently focused on developing mobile sites and apps, expanding our social media sites and in exploring symantic and ontological solutions to link the data on internal and external sites.
I'm generally a listener rather than a preacher (although I'm sure my sons and +Andrés Pedreño
would disagree!!) , so feel much more comfortable with Google+ than Twitter. My circles reflect my interests and include Family, Friends, Food, Internet, Cyberland, Cyberwomen, Google, Graphic Design, Silicon Valley, Geeks, Tech journalists, Artists and Photographers. I enjoy learning from the content published by all the interesting people in them and am amazed by the variety and quantity of the posts (I don't know how the mega google plussers with thousands of people in their circles manage to keep up with it all).
Regarding participation on Google plus, most of my posts are related to food, Internet news and business and interesting information shared by the media or other google plussers. I don't usually reciprocate people who put me in their circles if they have nothing in their profile (because how do I know if we've got things in common?), or who are "looking for a relationship" (because I am so not - I already have one). I do of course gratefully reciprocate anyone working in the same field (Internet, apps, mobile...) or interested in the same things as me. Thanks for visiting my profile :)
