We build custom furniture from reclaimed wood in our New Jersey mill. We've been taking down barns and making cool stuff since 2011. Reclaimed. Repurposed. Reloved. It's really our way of life!

When we hear of an old barn that is being demolished, we jump at the chance to save it. We re-harvest this wood and save it from becoming a part of the ever increasing landfills. Then we turn it into something remarkable.

Our wood and timbers come from a variety of different sources including: 18th & 19th century barns, homes, and factories dating back to the industrial revolution. From the wood & timbers we salvage we can create almost anything you can dream of – from the most authentic wood floor to a beautiful dining room table. If you have the vision, we can create it.

I had an idea and a picture of an intricate table I wanted to build for my first woodworking project. I went to just about every mill in New Jersey looking for the right wood and a lot of guidance. The team at RAW were so incredibly helpful, and instead of discouraging me from taking on an ambitious project, they actually ENCOURAGED me to do it, custom milling all the wood for my project to make things a little easier for me. They gave me beautiful, quality wood, and a year after completing my table and matching benches, I'm starting my next project. They are great! I have gorgeous dining room furniture that catches the eye of all my visitors, and I'm proud to say "I built it myself," but I never would have done it if not for RAW.

My husband and I were looking for a Mantel for our living room fireplace just before Christmas. I searched Google and came up with this place. I called several times with no luck of getting someone on the phone so I left a message. Several days passed with no call back so I took to searching Google once again. I found another plac and called them. I got a immediate response to my call and request for pictures. The next day I went to Boards and Beams and got the perfect Mantel that they showed me. My husband installed it and it is just gorgeous. I am a happy camper now. But, the reason for this review is that now after Christmas and New Year, I finally get a call from Real Antique Wood and the woman begins telling me that they were very busy and sold out of the Mantels. So is that a reason for you not to return a call? I am happy you were busy and sold out...good for you but, why not return a call to let me know. So mush for customer service at Real Antique Wood.

Real Antique Wood Mill stocks over a million board feet of reclaimed lumber at all times. Out of stock of beams is not factual. We have a full time staff and on-site mill and messages are returned promptly. This review is clearly a lame attempt to drive traffic to another vendor. We are proud to compete on the quality of our service and the largest stock of premium reclaimed lumber in the region.

Antique shop + barn wood from the 1800's + the fact that Anthony will custom make just about anything from that wood makes this place totally unique.

This is a strong place with good people and they have a quality collection of old story wood. They worked with me real nice on a custom order, did the work well, and were real friendly about it.

There's a new machine in town. We've added a CNC machine to our bag of tricks and we're really excited about it. With this type of technology we can create some really unique and custom pieces. Think outdoor signage, interior decor, custom tables, and so much more – all made from our antique wood! #cncmachining   #shutthefrontdoor   #signage

Countertop for a coffee bar made from our reclaimed cedar. This cedar is sourced from dismantled New York City water tanks. In the late 1800s all buildings in NYC higher than six stories needed to be equipped with a rooftop water tower. Made from Western cedar, these tanks moderate temperature better than steel tanks and with regular maintenance keep water clean and safe. Wooden water tanks are still used throughout the city, delivering clean water for drinking and bathing.

These factory carts date back to the early 1900s where they were used to move supplies throughout the factory. Our carts come from Hackettstown, New Jersey where the American Saw Mill Machinery Co. led the nation as the largest maker of circular sawmills in the 1920s. Factory carts make awesome coffee tables and add the perfect amount of antique wood – and history – to any decor.

It all begins with a story. We meet the owner of the barn, we meet the wood, and then we listen.

The stories are what make the product.  Every time I see an old barn off in a field just going to rot, I can't help but wonder at all the things that barn has seen over the generations.
