I think primarily this is going to pressure carriers for unlimited plans that are near $45-$55/mo
+Wayne Schulz I kind of understand your point. In no way am I defending the carriers, but an unlimited plan on a national carrier is better. For example, you can get an unlimited plan on Virgin Mobile in that price range but it doesn't include roaming on the Sprint network. You will always sacrifice something with prepaid.
+Wayne Schulz Agree. Most people hate their carriers anyway, as telecoms aren't really known for customer service or price value. By lowering the price point for the iPhone, there will be people who abandon their current plans.
