Is your Moto X battery suffering after the KitKat update?

Disabling Active Display Notification, or having the phone face down on the table, significantly increases your battery life.

Following directions to calibrate the battery didn't help much. +Motorola Mobility are you guys working on a fix?

Manipulating SVG Icons with CSS

I keep forgetting that SVG can also be styled - and the results can be pretty darn amazing (check out http://bit.ly/17hw9Ei).

Mostly of us use SVG icons for projects these days and then just do simple opacity transforms to for example indicate button states or something similar. But SVG and CSS can do so much more - +PJ Onori has an awesome series of articles out (http://bit.ly/1apDST8) on smarter contextual icons and styling SVG.

Highly recommended reading!

I can certainly agree with that considering the play field for html5 / css3 technologies is continuing to evolve and making it possible.

*I need your help on a new social app project!*

Hi Everyone, I’m working hard on putting together a new social app that I think you’ll really like. I’m in the process of building a prototype and researching behavior trends to better understand my audience (i.e. users like you), and I really need as big of a sample as possible to form my data in order to better mold the experience.

If you could help me by taking about 5 minutes of your time to fill out the survey below as honestly as you can, it would help me tremendously.

Thanks!

It's amazing to know what Twitter had to do in order to scale their platform across hosts, and support on average 10-20k tweets/second!

Introduction
I'm a Web Developer who emphasizes on User Experience (UX).

I always try to think outside the box when it comes to how we use the web, and consistently taking on new UI challenges.  On my free time I try to be active with as many communities as possible, giving support for those who need it and learning from others within the fields of design, programming, and web marketing.

I consistently monitor web metrics and analyze websites to find opportunities to expand web presence for small businesses.

My recent visit to Hacienda de Vega has been wonderful, after hearing seeing some mixed reviews from the restaurant. The staff greeted me and seated me quickly, where my friends and I sat next to a beautiful pond and served corn chips. The atmosphere felt like I was in a traditional Mexican restaurant -- something you don't get from other local Mexican Restaurants. The food was delicious; we decided to order a wet chicken burrito with salad, while my friends ordered the Parilla Ranchera and Fajitas. Their margaritas were excellent; not too light (just how I like it), and my friends enjoyed their beers and mixed drinks. The prices may be a little high, but the atmosphere and the quality of service made it worth every penny! They've introduced a new outdoor section to the restaurant that allows you to sit next to a fire pit or have a social gathering with friends while being entertained with games broadcasted on their LCD televisions. I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

A friend of mine referred me to this place many weeks ago, and I finally decided to give it a shot today. I've been to many sub shops in the last few years, and Jersey Mike's subs has to be my favorite sub shop as of today. The subs are fresh and delicious, at best! My friends and I came in at noon where the line was long and the shop was crowded, and our order was quick and ready in just a few minutes. Although Jersey Mike's is a little pricey compared to other sub shops and franchises, they're definitely worth the money! The Turkey and Provolone was AMAZING; my friends also had the Chicken Parmesan and (being a picky eater) they highly approve of this place. We drove all the way from North County to visit this place, and now we'll do so more often! We can't wait to have a location open up in San Marcos!
