"The process of regret is one that provides nothing but suffering for ourselves as we begin to allow the past to dictate how we should feel now. Instead, we can use the past as a reference point to understand what adjustments we would like to make moving forward. The adjustments do not have to come out of pain, sorrow, regret or judgment, but simply a choice to do things in a different way."

A 'study' didn't really find that men's beards are 'filled with poop' and 'dirty as a toilet.' But exaggerated repetition of a superficial news report did.

You can't argue with #science  - well you can... #popmusic   #lyrics
A new study by Andrew Powell-Morse is backing up a suspicion I've had for several years - lyrics for songs currently dominating the Billboard charts average at a third grade reading level.

+Bill Archinal thanks man. You brought up an interesting thought - I hope that modern pop gives way to more thought provoking music the way the 50s did to the 60s & 70s. Maybe it's an acid thing :p

Introduction
I would call me a "Rated R" for nudity, violence and language kind of G Plusser. I have a bit of a warped sense of humor and find myself to be hilarious even when others don't get "the joke." I enjoy making real connections on G+ if you have a profile pic and post interesting content I will Circle you and + the F out of you!

I am an entrepreneur and an indie singer/songwriter.  I also love camping and the outdoors. I've enjoyed success with a company I founded in 2003 - catmandu, Inc. as well as sold my songs all over the world which I record exclusively in my humble garage studio - I list this in my "Bragging rights" but I'm seriously not trying to brag or anything - as a matter of fact I don't even like my older music much. I am, however, excited about my current musical endeavors. I walked away from music for many years to do the responsible thing (you know - get a haircut and get a real job) but began the process of starting over in 2009 musically.

Even though I love Jesus I really hate what Christianity and the Church has become. I often find myself "on the outs" with other believers - I guess I'm too radical for most of them. So if you are a conservative Christian you may not want to circle me - I'll most likely make you mad, over challenge your beliefs or straight up shock you and make you blush.

I love my beard it gives me super powers - trust me! I also love my long hair and being free to be a man in a society that doesn't always approve of masculine behavior. That said I can also be a gentleman and enjoy dressing the part and enjoying a fine cigar, maybe a fine wine, an aged whiskey or fine tequila.

My heritage is fairly mixed up but I gravitate and associate mostly with my Scottish ancestry. I love America but the Highlands of Scotland beckon me like a hungry lover.

Speaking of hungry lovers - I am happily married to my wife and I enjoy her friendship very much - I can't get her to use G+ but I enjoy sharing posts with her anyway. We have four amazing kids who keep us busy and tired but we make time for each other to connect emotionally and physically which we believe is a MUST in a marriage.

I reinvent myself quite often in a constant attempt to improve myself.

Favorite Quotes:
"He who loves not wine, women and song remains a fool his whole life long." - Martin Luther, 1777

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” – George Eliot

"When the doors of perception are cleansed, things will appear to man as they truly are...infinite." - William Blake

“Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion.” - Jack Kerouac

"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." - Bob Marley

"You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life." -Winston Churchil

"I see songs not as a commodity used up when the album goes off the charts, which is often the case with pop songs. I see them as a body of work. Life should be breathed into them." ~ Sting

"If you are the kind of person who makes judgements about yourself on the basis of where you are on the charts or how many tickets have been sold to your concerts, you are guaranteed to be in for a big shock the day those figures don't turn up in your favour, and that day is inevitable. You can't measure your work by how much it sells." ~ Sting

"The bass has a weight and a heft to it that feels like a weapon, yet there is a quiet beauty to it as well. This instrument is the root of all harmony, the bedrock at the bottom of the stave upon which music is constructed." ~ Sting

"In the middle of the road of my life I awoke in a dark wood, where the true way was wholly lost." ~ Dante Alighieri

"We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home." ~ Australian Aboriginal Proverb

“Better fifty enemies outside the house than one within” ~ Celtic saying
