I put together a photo-story-gallery post over at Exposure.so of the KHSAA State 3A Championship game between Belfry and Wayne County.

If you've got a minute, I hope you'll check it out.

I recently went on a photo shoot with my mom, Von Bannister, where we were shooting fall pictures of Makena and Meredith. Sometimes it is hard to shoot side by side with someone else while still keeping the attention of the subjects. This time it just clicked. Makena and Meredith focused their attention towards each of us at precisely the right time to capture the images. I suppose having a camera pointed in their direction since birth has developed a certain level of comfort in front of a camera. It can be intimidating with one camera pointed at you, but two raises that intensity ten fold.
I have such a backlog of images to edit from the past 6 months coupled with several ideas of personal projects to accomplish, but hoping to tackle some of the backlog soon. Thanks for looking and have a good weekend.

I am hoping to get to Death Valley soon but think I will try it in the winter months. How was your camera with all that humidity? any problems with lens fogging?
Thanks for sharing

New York City - Manhattan Skyline

Maybe I helped encourage Makena to pick NYC for her birthday, guilty as charged, but not until after she mentioned it first. This image was shot on the Brooklyn side of the Bridge at Brooklyn Park. I have shot from this side before but I wasn't as far down to see the remnants of this old pier. Brooklyn Park is undergoing a massive redevelopment and from what I saw, this is definitely going to be the place to visit while in NYC. On my last visit it was only Kandi and I, so we walked across Brooklyn Bridge, but on this evening, Makena and Meredith wasn't up for the long trek across the famous bridge, so we took a cab. After dinner at Juliana's Pizza, owned and operated by Patsy Grimaldi, the original owner of Grimaldi's Pizza, I walked Kandi and the girls down to Pier 6 and made my way back to this spot for sunset. The girls met me back here just as I was packing my camera bag and we all had an ice cream to cool us off.

Looks like this will be a good upgrade from the D4

With the launch of the Nikon D4s, we're SUPER excited to share the trailer for my new short film "DEDICATED," about three great photographers: Dave Black, Robert Beck and George Karbus, who are some of the most dedicated professionals in the biz. Check out the trailer, shot entirely on the D4s, and read more about my take on this badass new camera on our blog: http://news.coreyrich.com/2014/02/latest-work-dedicated-trailer-for-the-nikon-d4s-release/

Leading Lines

Leading lines can be used to direct a viewers eyes to the subject of the image, or in this case a journey through the image. I like how the lines take the viewer on a stroll up the beach, onto the pier, and finally reaching your destination at the end of the pier for a fabulous view.

Introduction
My mother has been a wedding and portrait photographer for over 40 years. I have always been around photography as we had a complete lab setup,  darkroom, negative developer and paper developer. Now everything we do is digital and the $250,000 worth of equipment is sitting accumulating dust. So photography just came natural to me. I have a BBA specializing in computer programming which helps me pickup on any software quickly. I am self taught in photoshop, currently using CS5 and I love, love, love my intuos wacom tablet. I shoot with the Nikon D3S and have the dream 3 lens setup, 14-24 2.8, 24-70 2.8, and the 70-200 2.8. I also have a D7000 with the new 28-300 3.5-5.6. I love HDR sportraits, Joel Grimes work is awesome.

Married to my beautiful and caring wife Kandi. Daughters Makena (4 years old), Meredith (3 years old) and Shayla (20 years old). Both my wife and I are enrolled in the UPike MBA program and we both are very active in our church, First Baptist Church of Williamson.
