Instead of collecting Easter eggs today, we collected 14 fresh eggs from the 18 ladies in our happy little chicken coop. If you've ever seen “Babe” you will know that they got it right when they said that chickens exist for humans (I love that movie). It is a kind of biblical survival of the fittest.

Years ago one of our chickens forgot the who’s the boss principle. Each morning we would find broken egg shells in the nest. I put a camera in the coop and captured the guilty hen on video, jumping from a height onto an egg and having scrambled egg for breakfast. I decided that that was her last meal.

Two of our staff volunteered to be the execution squad. They came around home while I was at the ministry…and returned a little later with the chicken in a cardboard box. They had chickened out. They couldn’t do it. On the way home that night they stopped and tossed her over the fence of a farm.

There’s a sermon in there, somewhere...about mercy, bearing fruit, and knowing who is the Boss.

The Easter Message:

A town in the old West is lawless. People are being murdered daily, so the local council hire seven straight-shooting U.S. Marshalls to bring justice to the town. Who is going to rejoice at such a thought? The good people of the town. Who are going to cringe at the thought? The evil men.

Judgment Day is coming for humanity. If that’s a fearful thought it’s only fearful because of our guilt. If we were morally pure we would rejoice that justice is coming—when Hitler and all mass murderers get what they deserve. But the justice of God will also come to rapists, thieves, liars, fornicators, those who have hated, lusted, blasphemed, had sinful imaginations, and spoken idle words.

In truth, Judgment Day is a wonderful day of rejoicing. Look at how the Bible describes it:

"Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity" (Psalms 98:8, 9).

As Christians, our Judgment Day fell on the Savior 2,000 years ago. Our heart’s cry now is for others to be saved from the terror of that Day, through repentance and faith in Jesus.

See www.NeedGod.com for details.

I was in a meeting early yesterday morning that began with our think-tank team gazing at a projected picture of Mount Everest. It was meant to inspire us to greater heights, but I interrupted and said that Mount Everest had killed a lot of people.

Then I added, “It’s stupid to climb it. You can get the same view from the window of a plane.” Then I apologized for ruining the analogy.

Unbeknown to me, 12 people had either just died or were about to die on that mountain.

Before you shoot me down for having no sense of adventure, you should know that there are over 200 frozen dead human bodies that have been left on Mount Everest. They are used as “markers.”

Everest gives a variety of ways to pass into eternity. You can fall into an deep abyss, suffocate from lack of oxygen, freeze to death, get smashed by falling rocks, or as these 12--be crushed, frozen, or suffocate in an avalanche.

If you are tempted to risk your life to get a rush, how about considering your loved ones before thinking about your own personal buzz? I’m sure that there are 12 men in eternity that wished they had had second thoughts.

And if you still need an adrenalin rush, go to your local university, put down a soapbox, stand on it and preach to dying sinners.

Now there’s a hill to die on.

For sure this journey here is a lesson about death, one way or another. The real question is where does it lead? Mother Earth is like the womb of birth into eternal being. Which family will a soul be born into? There's only two families...Life and Death. The coolest part of our existence in this womb, is that during this, metaphorically speaking, gestation period, that all gets sorted out! If you're chosen for the Life family, I don't think it matters if your passion is climbing Mt. Everest or swimming in the Ocean. Hundreds of thousands are "birthed" into eternity everyday on this planet from various avenues. "man is appointed once to die, and then ___?" Fill in the blank. "we do not know the hour...Ecc 9:12 we cannot add a single hour by worry..Mt. 6:27 or know when the son of man will come or call our numbered days up. Psalms (various on study of days) If you climb a treacherous mtn, be sure you know where your home is. :-)

I love apologetics. In fact, "The Evidence Bible" is filled with hundreds if not thousands of them. However, it’s important to know that if you want to be effective in reaching the unsaved not to spend too much time addressing their “carnal” mind with apologetics, because that is where they harbor their hostility towards God’s moral requirements (see Romans 8:7).

Give them answers, but always keep in mind that the Bible tells us that they are “enemies of God in their minds” (see Colossians 1:21). So we must make sure we do what Jesus did and address the ally of their conscience, using the moral Law (the Ten Commandments). A. W. Pink said,

“Just as the world was not ready for the New Testament before it received the Old, just as the Jews were not prepared for the ministry of Christ until John the Baptist had gone before Him with his clamant call to repentance, so the unsaved are in no condition today for the Gospel till the Law be applied to their hearts, for ‘by the Law is the knowledge of sin’ (Romans 3:20). It is a waste of time to sow seed on ground which has never been ploughed or spaded! To present the vicarious sacrifice of Christ to those whose dominant passion is to take their fill of sin, is to give that which is holy unto the dogs. What the unconverted need to hear about is the character of Him with whom they have to do, His claims upon them, His righteous demands, and the infinite enormity of disregarding Him and going their own way.”

There are three things that are in scripture that the world hates—sin, righteousness and judgment.

There are three essentials we must never leave out of our preaching—sin, righteousness, and judgment.

+Randy Rodriguez Cabezas As Christians, we are instructed to remove sin from our lives. However, the reality of sin must never leave our preaching.

"O Lord, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep. A senseless man does not know, Nor does a fool understand this" (Psalms 92:5, 6).

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that opened such foolish and blind eyes as mine. I was in total darkness for 22 years. On April 24th it will be 42 years since He brought me into the light. I once was blind, but now I see. Amazing.

I am forever grateful beyond words.
