So, I made noises some time ago about how I don't want another 2.6.39 where the numbers are big enough that you can't really distinguish them.

We're slowly getting up there again, with 3.20 being imminent, and I'm once more close to running out of fingers and toes.

I was making noises about just moving to 4.0 some time ago. But let's see what people think.

So - continue with v3.20, because bigger numbers are sexy, or just move to v4.0 and reset the numbers to something smaller?

We normally do not put personal posts on this page, as they can be complicated matters and usually do not pertain to CyanogenMod news. That said, something is affecting us in a way it really hasn’t affected us before, and it’s hitting very close to home.

Within CyanogenMod, we have dozens of maintainers and hundreds of contributors; none of whom are paid employees. Yes, we get donations, but despite the jokes of yachts, helicopters, and private planes, it is really just enough to cover operating costs for servers and hosting. Occasionally, there is enough leftover in the team account to buy a device for a developer. What we are getting at here is that CyanogenMod is not rich.

There are, however, times where we wish that we were a full fledged company. It’d be nice if CM could pay for some full-time positions or help out team members when they are in need. Currently, we are experiencing a painful reminder of this limitation.

A member has had a pretty serious problem fall into his lap. +Ryan Scott (aka ChiefzReloaded), a device maintainer, has a rare infection known as Necrotizing Fasciitis. This infection is caused by bacteria that eats skin, fat, and other tissue; it is literally a flesh-eating disease. Ryan is going through the treatments that he needs to keep him alive, but unfortunately, that treatment quickly becomes very expensive to deal with, and it is no exception for Ryan. This disease has placed an incredible strain on him and his family, including his young children. The CyanogenMod team would love to be able to hand out a fistful of cash and help out as much as possible.

Love from the Community
Some members of our community have started a few initiates to benefit Ryan and his family. As we are unable to help out financially, we would like to lend our support for these community initiatives, and help spread the word.

+Polo Heysquierdo has started an Indiegogo page for Ryan at http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/scott-family-fund. This page has some more details on Ryan’s condition and a method for you to help the effort.

Additionally, a huge community favorite and someone who the CyanogenMod team loves, +Deth Becomes You has started an auction with proceeds aimed at helping out Ryan. https://plus.google.com/u/0/107290707477228775864/posts/BYfaDHZeJKt

And last, but not least, you can send donations and words of support to Ryan directly via paypal. chiefz.reloaded@gmail.com

We understand that not everyone can help, but even if you can’t, sending Ryan and his family some kind words and sharing this message will go equally as far.

Thank You,
The CyanogenMod Team

Worst ever. Blew all my expectations
CarZ
Plot No. 23, Survey No. 11/7, Khanampet Village, Borabanda Road, Near Meridian School ,Madhapur, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh 500081
Worst I'd say.

1. They charge hell of bill
2. My colleague gave them his car for servicing(car was producing a screeching noise) and he changed a few parts as if he knew it. The car produced the same sound after 2-3kms and persisted. Returned to them about the same noise but this time too the same result. This experiment with them costed him ~7000/-
3. One customer gave him the car just to do water wash plus some other stuff. They charged him Rs ~4200/-. Suspecting them he opened the bonnet and found some sick load of dust. He went mad and asked them to do it properly
4. Beware they'd check everything as if they know everything, but the end result is nothing gets fixed but you burn a hole in your pocket
Quality Poor - Fair

Very bad 3d experience at this theater, ruined the experience of Fast and furious 7. 3d glasses that doesn't/partially show 3d. It gave me a headache after the movie and strained my eyes. This theater is not recommended for 3d movies.

The best thing about this ISP is that they provide the best speeds. Now, coming to the worst part: 1. Mother f****** don't care when you have an issue. You have to fu****g call them nearly 30-40 times for 7 days in a row and then they respond. 2. All you get is, "We will try to do our best in 24 hours". What the fu** does that even mean, when they can't resolve? 3. They are seriously understaffed probably the worst support from service provider. AFAIK airtel provides better support but high on price compared to this. 4. Even after escalating to the Nodal officer level, the ground team barely responds. They have this fu****g "Chalta hai", attitude. 5. If the Nodal officer can't do anything, Why the fu** is he still the Nodal officer? 6. Ask for a refund for every time/hour you don't get connectivity.

Always keep an eye on the fuel meter otherwise you will be duped big time. Fuel quality is just ok (lesser adulteration).
