One of the most useful pages on our site is our list of brands, which you can reach from anywhere on our site by hitting "Brands" in the top toolbar. This page is a comprehensive list of different brands of tea from all over the world, and a portal to learn more about these companies, read or share reviews of their teas, or explore listings of their teas.We update this list frequently, marking companies closed as they close, but keeping their information archived for a reference.

We just added a powerful new feature, showing recommendations on the page for each tea! This is especially useful if you want to find a replacement for a discontinued tea, or the teas from a company you like that has closed, but it can also be used to discover new teas similar to ones you already enjoy. Our latest newsletter explains, but the best way to see this is to try it out for yourself! It's at the bottom of the page for every tea on our site now!

Most of Russia is too cold to grow tea, but a small region of the country along the Black Sea produces some top-quality artisan teas. Tea in the City, a UK-based company, provided us with some beautiful photos of the tea gardens there. Each of the six gardens has its own unique take on tea production. https://goo.gl/bmYAcB #russia #sochi #blacksea

How acidic is tea? It's actually one of the least acidic among commonly consumed drinks, less than coffee and much less than fruit juice. This article also debunks the recommendations in the "alkaline diet" to drink green tea rather than black...although some of the other recommendations of this diet are beneficial, we found no evidence to support this recommendation: all types of tea are healthy. https://goo.gl/7GjR6c #tea #acidity #alkalinediet

Brazil only grows a small amount of tea, but it is the origin of other caffeinated plants: Yerba Mate, commonly consumed as a (caffeinated) herbal tea, as well as Guarana, the fruit pictured here. https://goo.gl/uV89CT #brazil #caffeine #yerbamate

Tea has negligible calories, so the only way you get a lot of calories out of it is if you add something like sugar or milk to it. Although unsweetened tea is a good choice for people trying to reduce their calorie intake, we warn against calorie counting as it can contribute to eating disorders and is not the healthiest way to approach food and drink. https://goo.gl/cZpTr5 #calories #diet #tea

The ingredients and flavorings used to blend with rooibos overlap somewhat with, but are distinct from the flavorings used in tea, owing to the unique flavor profile of rooibos. Browse this category to see some of the different blends various companies have to offer, or read reviews to see how people think these blends stack up. https://goo.gl/SHQrPB #rooibos #herbaltea

On our site, we classify each tea as loose, tea bag, sachet (pyramid or premium tea bags), compressed, blooming, or powdered (as with Matcha). This page explains what each of these labels means, and how we make the cutoff of what to include or exclude from each category. https://goo.gl/jsgGx8

Nantou is the central county in Taiwan, the only landlocked county, and Taiwan's largest tea-producing region. There is both great variety and great quality in the teas produced here. https://goo.gl/zqALcn #taiwan #nantou
