Seeking your comments, thoughts, and specially data too, on the rather ridiculous - "Studies / surveys show that the fear of public speaking is greater than the fear of death" or "#1 fear of people--according to studies/survey is that of public speaking"

Apart from the data on "Book of Lists" are you aware of any real/credible studies/surveys?

I for one think this is sorry myth ... one that should be addressed head on. I do not deny that public speaking generates anxiety etc., but this is biology, so we get used to it, and we handle it ... like any other fright / flight / fight responses.

But ... greater than fear of death? IMHO: sheer nonsense.

Would appreciate any pointers to studies / surveys other than at link below.
