A lot of the existing architecture is historic and reflects a classic European decor in the lobbies of Kansas City’s boutique hotels, but modern designers have all found fresh and interesting ways to play off of it giving it a sophisticated twist with a mix of rich colors and lots of complimentary textures.

Make the most of a game day experience or TGIF with the best bbq you've ever eaten in an upscale Plaza restaurant. Free valet parking is a bonus.

Come sample the local crop at Kansas's City's very own Farmers Market. Located in the City Market, see and shop all the local produce every Saturday and Sunday. Pick something up or just see the sights before returning to your room at The Raphael. #KC #Farmersmarket

“Just checked into the beautiful, historic Raphael Hotel in Kansas City. They are so nice here--left me a bottle of wine and a note quoting one of my books…”

Chef Charles d'Ablaing  shares cooking techniques in the Lobby from 2 - 5 every Thursday in the Lobby and occasionally for TV audiences (watch him explain the difference between Savannah and Maryland style crab cakes). The difference between watching a chef on TV and live? You can taste it live for free.

Lovely hotel in the heart of the Plaza. Excellent location. Nice amenities and easy to access parking. I loved the fitness center, and the Keurig coffee pot in our room! The hotel was quiet and I loved the historic decor inside. Gorgeous exterior. Free juice in lobby in the evening and free coffee in the morning. Free apples and oranges throughout hotel and bottled water and granola bars in the fitness center. I loved the fact that we actually had a real bath mat as most hotels only offer a towel mat. The only downside of our stay were a couple of rude comments from two of the workers. We encountered a different employee who was very sweet and had worked there for almost 28 yrs.

Everything's overpriced, it's obvious they're trying to make as much money off of you as possible. Service at the desk was actually pretty good, they were very welcoming and helpful, but not happy about the room paid extra for our room, but the only thing that made it worth it was the jet powered bathtub, which didn't work right and sprayed water everywhere. Our microwave didn't even come with our room - we had to ask for it at the desk which I thought was a bit weird, not to mention the mini-fridge in that room was so tiny it didn't even have the capacity to hold any of the food we brought so it all went bad :(. We could get a better room from a mainstream hotel that's cheaper.

Amazing hotel with top notch facilities. Professional staff and friendly atmosphere. Excellent location and quiet rooms. Nicer rooms than the Bellagio! Only issue, otherwise I would've given five stars, was that the Marriott booking agent said there would be a "partial view of the Plaza" but we were placed on the back-side of the building which had a view of a parking facility and a back street.

I have booked a Romantic Getaway package for my cousins and i specifically told them that i dont want them to know the pricing. The customer service representative said that she has made all the arrangements that my cousins wouldnt know the pricing of it. When they were ready for checkout the hotel gave them the checkout form with all the pricing information. When i called them back to check on it, the person i spoke to was very rude and said that i should have also told them not to give the checkout form. When i asked her why wasnt i told about this before she said.. she is not finished and kept talking which did not make any sense. I have observed that the people who handle the calls are very arrogant and dont take the responsibility of their tasks. The service was much better few years ago. I have been observing that the management is getting worse since last year...

My wife and I were in Kansas City for a wedding and reception downtown, so I thought I would pamper my wife for the weekend. We had a plaza view and a wonderful relaxing evening. The hotel staff served all our needs; I requested an early check-in, late check-out explaining my reasoning and they were very accomodating. Thank you for a great weekend, we recommend staying at The Raphael Hotel at least once!
