I filmed this the other day for a friend showing them how a bell siphon works.  This system is a little smaller then the one on my back patio but it works just as good.  I have a neighbor that owns a hydroponics store so I'm going to take this one in to set up in his shop to hopefully be able to build and sell them as a patio picker.

Never before has the idea of growing vegetables indoors intrigued us so much. Lobster farming, producing our own food and becoming self-sufficient are heart felt goals of so many. And why not! It is so easy and simple to do...

An overview and walk through of the new emergency back-up system. Keep your fish alive in the event of a power or pump outage without keeping guard 24/7.

Would love to do this! sigh Income minus cost of living = never have the cash to do so. Took a weekend seminar in 2012 and keep following Aquaponics, maybe hit the lottery (even a small one) someday.

I wonder if a siphon would work for a constant stream? Very cool for sure and will do this this summer!

Got some new additions to the AP on the weekend. 13 WA marron. I have lost 2, one was DOA and the other died today.

My system is constant flood with a homemade venturi as per +RobBobs Backyard Farming venturi tutorial (thanks mate!) so DO is not a problem... Hope the others survive.

So my system now has 10 Silver Perch, 10 rainbow trout and 11 marron! I have planted a bunch of seedlings and it all seems to be ticking along nicely

Aquaponics the sustainable fusion of Agriculture and Aquaculture.
Introduction
Aquaponics is the future of Agriculture and Aquaculture rolled into one synergistic ecosystem. The fish provide the nutrients to the plants and the plants provide the clean water for the fish.  Aquaponics is great for dry environments and for people who want to conserve water.  Aquaponics use up to 95% less water than traditional farming methods.
