Hear the story of Randy Gilson and what led him to becoming an activist who brought life and color to a dwindling neighborhood on the north side of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.  - Beautifully shot by my great friend Brandon McDonnell http://vimeo.com/bmcd

Struggling helped me think outside of the box, to challenge myself, to improvise, to become creative.

If you do the same thing as everybody else, then you’re the same as them. But I think everyone has a unique personality and character, so why not just be different? Be the best you can. Be happy with who you are!

Randyland is truly a magical place and whenever I go there I feel at peace. Randy has decorated the entire place as a haven for anyone who needs a place to unwind and feel happy. Highly recommend!

I don't review things often - this is my first on Google - but this was an amazing experience. Randy has created happiness for himself and shares it with everyone he meets. This is a happy place - and very few exist today in our modern world.

Coolest place I have been in a while. Randy is a really cool and nice guy who has created some awesome art in his lot for everyone to see and visit for free. I urge anybody who visits to make a donation to keep this place going.

Absolutely fun place to see. It's a visual feast of colors and artful objects. Gaudy but great. It's just some guys house and patio but he went nuts decorating it and adding to the fun. Bring your camera.

Randyland is a colorful and uplifting place and a must visit if you're in Pittsburgh. Randy is an artist and community activist who is living the saying "be the change you want to see in the world." His attitude is so refreshing and his home is decorated from top to bottom with bright and beautiful colors. He's taken trash from abandoned lots around the neighborhood and turned them into an art installation.
