Great talk today by +Paul Reynolds and +Mike Schroll at the Economic Growth Summit sponsored by Coastal Carolina University.

Paul and Mike talked about CoWorkMYR and the growth of a tech venture community here on the South Carolina coast, and showcasing the upcoming Startup Weekend Georgetown on September 27, 2013.

It was an eye-opening presentation for most of those in the audience unaware of this community of entrepreneurs and innovators who are  taking advantage of their ability to do what they love in a place they love to live.

The great Lady Margaret Thatcher has passed after a full life well lived.

The team of Reagan & Thatcher reverse the entire debate about the role of government. Before them, everything was about growing the size and scope of government. There was not much even in the way of discussion about making government less consequential in the lives of ordinary people.

They made it fashionable to talk of less instead of more government. While we are still a long way from accomplishing what they began, citizens of both countries are overwhelmingly supportive of their goal. It is our obligation to make their dream a reality.

Just looking at this amazing picture of the two greatest world leaders of the modern era and contrasting this picture with the sorry examples of "leadership" we have today brings a tear to the eye. But it also brings a challenge to the heart. We must do better. It is our job to do better. And remembering Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher, we know we better is within our grasp.
