Dear sir,
I had ratina detachment in my right eye and it was fixed through vitrectomy.
After silicon oil removal I have resudal oil which causes disturbance in sight.
Pl tell me if this residual oil can be removed or its not wise to do operation again. My doctor is saying to just cope with this.
Sec although my vision is quiet good after ratina surgery but the brightness or quality of vision is not good. What could be the reason of this,?. Is residual silicon oil the reason or ratina can no more see better. I am 34 years now. And also had cataract surgeries in both eyes before ratina detachment in right eye.
Pl give me your opinion?
Thanks
Ikram

Glad you like.  We need to catch up!

These work very well for a variety of ways, but hearing my voice augments the process of engagement.  The video thing didn't turn out too well....this time!

I am a 60 year old male living in New Jersey. In the winter of 2014 on a bitter cold day in New York City, I tripped and fell, banging my head near my left eye into a metal post. In the ensuing days, I thought I had blurry vision, but when it didn't go away I discovered that I had sustained a posterior vitreous detachment and had entered the wonderful world of "floaters." I had a huge double floater and a small piece of my optic nerve in there as well. All the local eye doctors I saw made light of it and told me to "get used to it." This thing was severe and greatly diminishing my quality of life. It was like having a floating cataract. I was constantly trying to look it out of my field of vision but of course it always came back. It was especially horrible on long day time drives. A seven hour return from Vermont was the last straw. I had no intention of getting used to it.

After having laser treatment ruled out because the big floater was too close to my retina, I did my research on-line and discovered the wonderful Dr. Randy Wong. I had my 15 minute Floaters Only Vitrectomy with him about two months ago and my floaters are gone! I had my post-op with Dr. Randy two weeks ago received a clean bill of health.

Dr. Wong is the best thing that has ever happened to the floater community. He is empathetic, kind, and a top-flight eye surgeon. People come from all over the country and indeed the world for this procedure as few retina surgeons have the guts to do what Dr. Randy does. His staff raves about him and I believe his testimonials here and elsewhere on-line are 100% legitimate. Dr. Wong is THE BEST and if floaters are adversely affecting your life you owe it to yourself to take a trip to Fairfax, VA and see him. Like me, you'll be glad you did. Randy: Thank you for giving me my eye back!

Recent upload to slideshare....presentation I gave during my recent webinar for the treatment of floaters.

r
This is the presentation for the webinar I published on April 12, 2015. The webinar was focused on the treatment of floaters by 25 gauge vitrectomy. This eye operation is also called FOV, aka floaters only vitrectomy. The slideshow discusses the process of vitrectomy, preoperative eye exam, the vitrectomy, post-operative expectations and follow up for those patients experiencing floaters in their vision. I also included a video of an actual 25 ga...

@Landon Roberts  - Sorry for the delay.  The advantage of this method is that the vision is usually preserved.  This patient has better than reading vision!
