After completing is Post Graduation degree in Media and Film Studies from University of Kolkata, he was appointed as the official journalist for Kolkata Film Festival. His articles were appreciated by national and international delegates who attended the festival in 2001. He started his career as a freelance journalist with Screen Film Weekly in 1995, later joined The Asian Age publication in Kolkata as Sub-Editor in Features Department in 2001. He shifted his based to Mumbai in 2003, when he joined India’s leading film magazine Stardust as Senior Correspondent. During this time he wrote a coffee-table book on actress Hema Malini. ‘Diva Unveiled-Hema Malini’ which was published by Magna Books and he won accolades from media and film industry for his research on Hema. He remains the youngest biographer in India, who has written a book on a Bollywood personality at the age of 27. He was honored with Best Journalist Award thrice in Kolkata and also in Mumbai by The Lions Club, Versova. He also won Best Author Award for his book on Hema Malini in Kolkata.
After completing the book, he shifted to a tabloid Mumbai Mirror, published by Times Of India group. He joined the publication as Assistant Editor in Mumbai Mirror and carved his niche as a Sunday columnist. His column Ram Katha became a rage amongst cine-buffs and he also made his mark as a film journalist.
Later he joined PNC as Vice President of Special Projects, and worked on various upcoming projects. While working with PNC he used to write for Mid-Day and ABP.
Currently he is working as the Editor of Stardust Magazine.
