The year 2014 has seen the most program review classes ever for the advanced team. This team at Wing Tsun Kung Fu ‪#‎Vancouver‬, the first Canadian ‪#‎WingTsun‬ branch, currently consists of 24 members from Student Grade 12 all the way to 4th Technician Grade.
Last night’s review focused on the first half of the form, featuring different warm-up drills.
Most important is the how-to of training. Most of us tend too early to move too fast, which delivers only what we know, existing habits of technical movement. It’s easy to nurse poor habits. Only when we move slow, can we learn new pattern, feel every muscle involved. The faster we perform; we often cover up poor movement pattern.
Train any part of any form fast and then perform the same part very slow. Feel the enormous difference.
Moving fast doesn't mean that you move well, or powerful, or in the right distance, or balanced. When you move slow, work on moving correct, you make small changes that will have a huge impact on your performance.
The next double knives form review class, the second part is on December 17th 2014.
Missing in the photo is +Brian Yam  who had to slip out a bit earlier.

Wing Tsun Kung Fu Vancouver event
Saturday, March 7th 2015 was the date for yet another open-air bonus class for members and friends of the first Canadian ‪#‎WingTsun‬ branch (est. 1994).
Beginners and advanced members trained together, working on example exercises that help to further the idea of awareness of surroundings and our individual space, the borders.
Working on:
- generating force = functional strength,
- fluid motion = moving from toes to fingertips
- elasticity = whiplash like strikes to beat a physically stronger opponent
- coordination of hand- and foot-work
- mobility = today: footwork, whole-body work
- bridging of the distance = our attacks are our defenses are our attacks ...

Thirteen members of the advanced team at Wing Tsun Kung Fu Vancouver got together on January 15th 2015 for yet another program review class. The topic was once again the Bart-Cham-Dao form.
The parts of the form were taken apart considering the following ideas:
- long vs. short range weapon attacks
- pole vs. sword vs. flexible weapon attacks
- stabbing and thrusting attacks vs. sweeping or slinging attacks
- stabbing and cutting vs hacking and slashing
