This is a project I've been working on over the past few months. Congrats to the Surui on their launch!

This week at the Rio+20 conference, the Surui tribe of the Brazilian Amazon are launching their Surui Cultural Map on +Google Earth, the result of a five-year collaboration between the Surui people and Google.

Over the course of three visits to the Surui territory, the Google Earth Outreach team taught Surui youth how to take photos and videos to collect stories from their elders—information that's now been bound together in a Google Earth KML. On the Surui map, you'll find locations that reflect their interdependency with their forest home—such as where to find certain kinds of trees, hunting grounds and animals like parrots or jaguars—as well as sites and stories of historical events. Read more about the Surui Cultural Map in our blog post http://goo.gl/eWI29 or watch a short documentary about the project.

Hello Raleigh,

I current map for the google street view project in Dallas Texas. I have a proposal to map in my native home, Kenya. I believe it's a viable and feasible project for google.

Kind regards,

Stephen.

Hi David, thanks for joining! I'm not sure that you can remove the reference to the logo all together, however one suggestion might be to put the logo layer in a folder combined with another layer and lock them as a single entity. If the map viewer expands the folder, he/she will be able to see the logo layer in the contents...but it's a little less obvious. I hope that helps!

Here's the help article on organizing your content into folders: http://support.google.com/mapsengine/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2451644
