For first time flyers and seasoned road warriors alike, flying can bring a certain level of jitters. However, for those with the challenges of Autism, flying can bring a level of stress most of us simply can't image. Find out how a partnership with the Autism Society of NC and the TSA is helping to improve the flying experience.

Best airport I have ever experienced. The parking lots are designed so convenient that makes visiting the airport so relaxed, no matter dropping off, picking up or drive and fly for a period of time. The facilities are well designed and built. I decided to settle down here in Raleigh area, and I really fortunate to have a airport like this one in town.

This is the best airport. When I travel to other airports I'm always so Releived to final get to RDU. I'm a senior so it's important to have friendly service. It's so well laid out even I can find my way around!

I had the WORST experience with the security checkpoint here. My toddler had been learning about taking her shoes off at airport security, and I statred taking her shoes off. Well, apparently you didnt have to take your shoes off for this checkpoint, because the man at the metal detector just yelled aloud at us that we didn't have to take out shoes off.... while I'm trying to explain to my daughter to put her shoes back on, he just keeps screaming as if we were dumb, with no patience at all. This was at about 4 am, there were MAYBE 3 people behind us. As if that wasn't bad enough, no one would directly talk to us, just a man who literally yelled aloud when my elderly mother didn't put her bag directly onto the conveyor belt (which had a little wall beside it and hard to reach around) and instead pushed her bag onto the rollers that come before the conveyor belt. The staff behind the conveyor belt just stood there, with her gloves on, and the man at the metal detector just literally screamed aloud that "WE ARE NOT YOUR MAIDS, you need to push your own bag through" over and over again. My elderly mother didnt realize they were talking about her and thought her bag was taking so long because of all of the medicine in her bag. No one would just tell us, no signs that say specifically to have to reach around the wall and push, nothing. Just yelled. What a piece of crap, to yell at a toddler and an elderly woman. And the other staff just stood there, looking at us. We don't get on planes alot, but to be sure, people make those mistakes before. Unless there are signs or someone telling them, how can everyone know? They left a sour taste in my mouth. I have never had an issue at any other airport security before. Laziest people ever.

My first time flying was from this airport. Everything was so easy and staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of places to eat and shop at and a lot of space. Boarded plane on time and everything went smoothly. I love flying!

It was easy to get to the terminals and a very well organized and nice airport. Only problem I had was I parked my car in the drop off section for 5 mins to say goodbye to my girlfriend who I hardly see since a long distance relationship and the traffic "police" argued with me saying I parked to long and needed to leave or he would give me a ticket, causing me to speed up my goodbye and not have a proper one. Other than that airport was great.

This is a stellar airport! It is easy to claim your bags, to navigate around, to get transportation/rental cars, and to get food. I recommend it. Fun for traveling to the Outer Banks or Eastern NC (or of course the Triangle). 5 out of 5!

I have flown in and out of airports all over the world and this is, hands-down, the best airport to fly out of. From Downtown Raleigh to the gate takes 30 minutes MAX for early morning flights. I don't have much experience with flights later than 7 am out of RDU but can vouch 100% for early morning flights. They have a genius (fleet of?) bomb-sniffing dog(s) with super friendly handlers that eliminate the need to take off shoes, remove laptops, toiletry bags, belts, and coats, and the friendliest staff of 6 am TSA agents I have ever encountered. Every check-in lane is open and you are in and out of security in under 5 minutes 90% of the time. If you're renting a car, there are shuttles involved - the only thing that would make this airport better is rental sites within walking distance (parking garage distance) from the terminal. Other than that - this airport is a dream to fly out of. I wish this stress-free level of travel was the norm!
