Funny video "First World Problems" -- this kid is hilarious, and probably making quite an allowance with millions of views. He mentions Google but not G+ -- dated now? ;-) Anyway, I'm in LA right now, and about to leave to avoid Carmageddon for the weekend. Vegas here I come -- now that's my first world problem of the day :)

this has become my new go to Chinese place. Parking: Plenty of street parking around the area. Delivery: I live only a few blocks away so for me it's always very quick. Accuracy: You might wonder "Accuracy? what's that have to do with a restaurant?" Well if you've ordered take out you know sometimes they don't always get your order correct. This place always gets it right. Food: This is one of the few places in the area that offers "fake" meat or SVT and according to my wife it's really good. Their real meat/fish is also very good. I tend to stick to the basics of fried rice, egg drop soup and chicken with garlic sauce which are all well done. Price: The price isn't too high and the amount you get is good. We like their dinner combos which provide an eggroll and fried rice.

This is one of the great venue's in the area. It hosts a variety of acts from book signings to comedy shows. I've seen Aziz Ansari and the Freakanomics Authors there. They sometimes offer drinks depending on the show but no food. There is no assigned seating so I suggest arriving very early to get in line to get a seat. The seats are only about 6 feet from the stage on the lower level so you really get up close and personal with the the acts. They also have seating in an upper level balcony which looks nice but I've never been up there.

Much like the original Rasika this location combines classical indian cooking with a flair for the innovative. They have an extensive drink menu too which makes for a great night. While parking can be a pain the metro is very close or there is always uber. The quality of the food is outstanding and the portions are generous. If it's your first time at the restaurant I'd suggest splurging on the tasting menu, the portions are generous for the main course and can easily serve as your lunch for the next day or a great late night snack. The staff is very well trained and knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu. The ambiance is very nice, think business casual vs dressy. But it's also near GW so sometimes students will wander in for a night out.

One of the best views in the area is from the porch of the vineyard. Their wines are all on the dryer side with the exception of their dessert wine. The tasting fee is $7 and you taste 7 wines. There is plenty of parking on site but the drive up is a bit harrowing so I would make sure that you do it with plenty of light out.

SO MANY HIPSTERS.....but such good coffee. One of the great independent coffee shops in DC it offers a good selection of coffee, tea, beer, wine, and absinthe. They specialize in offering great rotating pour over coffees which can be a bit strong. They have limited seating and it often becomes pretty busy in the afternoon. My favorite drink is a cortado which unfortunately they only offer to drink onsite. The staff can be nice or snippy depending on who is behind the bar.

A smallish winery with a wide selection of reds, whites, and a sparkling option. The tasting fee covered 7 wines but the people behind the counter were nice enough to let us try their port and sparkling wine both were amazing. Their port is one of the best in the area. There is plenty of parking and the staff is very friendly.

This is a great sandwich shop and grocery store. It’s located inside of a mini-market which makes parking a bit of a pain. They have a wide selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The food is very filling and reasonably priced.
