Easter came early for #Ingress  agents in Lebanon where they gathered on the evening of Friday 3 April, Saturday 4 April 2015 to draw "Happy Easter" over the intel of Beirut (Google+ Event URL:

At around 20h00, Beirut was declared a neutral zone where no portals were to be captured or links/fields made. Agents +Ahmad Bushnaq, +Christiane Aouad,  +Rami Sakr, +Michael Houiess, +Moophz Himself & +Wael Yassin started setting up a safe parameter around Beirut: enlightened links secured south and west while resistance agents secured the perimeter from north and east.
This safe perimeter helped agents know the area of operations as well as prevented random linking from outside Beirut.

Agents started to arrive around 23h00 to HQ of the operation at Sassin square in Ashrafieh where agent +Bilal Kamoon and myself setup our command center to coordinate the operation and help direct agents, find portals  as well as document the Operation on the intel.

A Google form was handed using tablets by 1 admin from each faction in order to register all agents present at the event where they all agreed to:
-Respect Ingress Terms of Service -Never play ingress while driving
-Refrain from spoofing and/or abusing of fake account/s
-Always respect other agents in the game (especially in COMM) and in the real world
-Enjoy the GAME!
-Have fun in this event :)

Teams of 4-5 agents from both faction in 2-3 cars were dispatched to 1 of 5 different areas of Beirut where they drew 2-3 letters on the intel alternating one letter in blue and the next in green. Each team had to destroy surrounding portals and then deploy needed links and fields to form the instructed letters.

The teams faced many challenges such as team 1 clearing blue & well shielded portals inside the American University of Beirut (unreachable at this late hour). Team 2 had to clear over 100 portals blocking the formation of the letter Y of the word Happy (They were joined later by 2 additional agents), while team 3 tackled the formation of the letter E with only 1 enlightened agent (+Christiane Aouad ) available to destroy, deploy, link and field. Team 4 had the most of excitement: it all started when they faced a small car problem (Kudos to agent @Spyr0s for fixing the situation in a record time). They were questioned at an army checkpoint, then by the Internal Security Forces (Police) and later by a private security force securing the area about what they are doing at this late hour. Following these questionings and the suspicion of the 3 mentioned security entities they had to stop finishing the letter S and head back home.
Team 5 had complicated shapes of the letters E and R and had several portals to clear but they aced their tasks and finished on time.

03h30: HAP__ EA_TER and the letters PY and S are still under construction. It was by the huge efforts of the remaining agents as well as agents from other teams who joined teams 2 &3 in order to help them finish their tasks. Many thanks to agents +Ahmad Bushnaq, +Christiane Aouad , +Samer Cheaib and @Georges90 who refused to leave before helping with the big and complicated letter Y and agents +Vix Bic, +Sevag Demirdjian and +Raghd Hamzeh whom without their great dedication and efforts we couldn't have finished the letter S in that somehow critical area.

05h07: All letters are complete and #Ingress  agents in Lebanon wished all #Ingress   agents around the world an early Happy Easter and a successful first #IngressFS  and amazing cross faction in Beirut city.

Many thanks also to all agents who took part of this event:
+Maya Saikali &@Samallmighty for clearing those hard links at the AUB
* +Fadi Husseini &@Nazix for driving back and forward many times at a very late hour to finish the H & P
* +Marwan Lahoud, @AgentKnatox, +Nagib AbdelNour  +Samer Cheaib  for their high efficiency and finishing on time
* +Moophz Himself for taking amazing photos which will soon be published on the event G+ page
@Charbel4t, +Omar Obeid,@Spyr0s, +Ahmad Bushnaq for exploring a new area and digging deep into the intel in order to find the location of portals
@FlenElFoulen& @Luciforosse for backing up their team mate when needed
@Charbel4t& +Bilal Kamoon for travelling a long distance to participate in this event
+Nagib Abdelnour for helping to motivate enlightened agent and coordinating the enlightened agents.

Many thanks to agents who helped tweak this event without being able to attend:@Jeho, +jamil mrad

Also many thanks to agents who submitted their evaluation form in order to make future cross faction events better.

Many cool photos and videos will follow on the G+ event page.

And we hope that all other agents that were not able to join us during this event that they will join us for our official first #IngressFS  on 2 May 2015.

Enlightened and Resistance agents in Lebanon worked together to wish all ingress agents around the world a Happy Easter.

Well, this is interesting. Since when has Google been showing links in the knowledge graph to people's profiles on alternate services?

(see the profile section at the bottom of the attached screenshots)

It should show the official website first though. It lists everything except that. Oh and What kind of music discovery feature does not reference (even Myspace of all things is supported)

From what I could find, the supported services are:
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Instagram
- Youtube
- Google+
- Myspace

The profiles are sorted either randomly, or by wherever the artist/person/entity is most active, or by some weird secret sauce.. Couldn't figure out which.

Also he appearance of the profile section was weird. For examples it showed up for most artists I tested, including non-globally popular artists I listen to.
The profile section also appeared for people like the current US president and Jim Carry, but didn't for the UK Prime Minister or the Lebanese President or people like Steve Wozniak, Linus Torvalds, or Sergey Brin.

This is probably old news, or even more embarrassing, some sort of unofficial plugin I have installed and forgotten about. But seeing those links was extremely surprising, and the possibility of Google no longer being a control freak, and admitting that other services exist is too good not to speak up about.

So, Google, in case this is official, thank you!

Hmm.. Google Drive was launched two years ago.. Two years of "coming soon" for #Linux. #io14

A proper native Linux client would make the 100 GB Drive account an awesome offsite backup option.  Incredible bang for the buck.

If you are going to be at #io14, do me a favor. Wait till it's packed and everyone is quite, then shout: "OK Google, call home."

Or a premium number. Whichever you prefer :)

Would love to see what happens then.

P.S. Better wait till they have distributed the Android Wear stuff.. More potential victims. (Evil grin)

You have to give the #chromecast bonus points for perseverance. Not everyone can make it beyond 100%. Or maybe it didn't find the latest at 100, and decided to keep looking? #fail

You know what they say, a person giving 100% is never enough. No reason it shouldn't be true for a computer.

Someone, somewhere at Google thought that red labels on a red background was a good idea.

That makes it a bit hard to look at the home screen of the material YouTube Android app without your eyes hurting..

This is huge! We can now (finally!) charge with apps without going through the hoops of setting up an account overseas.

I'm kinda surprised they support Lebanese pounds though.. Lebanon's usage of USD currency relative to the population is probably second only to the US.

Still, the more currency options the better.

it was surprising the usage of LL instead of USD!
